I had one in that size , once .
Problem was , I'm not that size .
Great bike for riding .
One of the misunderestimated Schwinns .

A '77 or '78 Peugeot PR60, for $19.07. A PR10 in 'Gentlemen' guise. In dire need of some TLC. I don't come across these very often, and it's close enough to my size to ride it. As it's got all the racks, fenders and lights, and I want to get rid rid of the turkey levers anyway, I might fit this with a flat north road bar and put it into use it as an errand bike.

I was happy, he was happy.
Only weirdnesses are the syncro for a 7 speed with a 6 speed FW out back and a loose right side shifter boss which is making the indexing all the worse. I can' figure out how to get the boss secure- it just slides, I can't remove it to get glue under it- I'll have to think of something (or make a thead asking for help).

I think they are underestimated also. I had a 1982 Le Tour that once I upgraded a few things it was a great ride. This is a higher level than that was. I need to replace a rear spoke, replace tires and the standard overhaul and it will be ready to go. The price was not bad at $80 either.

fell in love with the paint and did not pay enough attention to size.

I went to the dump today to drop off some building rubble and picked this out of the metals skip.
It's a Terry Dolan Cougar. As far as I can research he's a frame-builder from Liverpool who makes quality frames which have been ridden by Chris Boardman and Greg Lemond in the 80s and 90s (sometimes re-badged).
It's very light, probably Columbus or 653. I can't decide whether to build it as an SS or geared

Not quite the dump but close. I picked this up at a swap meet for peanuts - planning to give it a light restore.
I think its a late '70s model running suntour cyclone, tubular campag wheels, campag shifters weinmann brakes. Some nice frame features - love the seat post and 3ttt stem

I picked this beauty up off CL a couple weeks ago. I just happened to look at CL during the morning at work right after it popped up. Fortunately the seller was fairly close to my work. I was able to go on my lunch hour and get it before anyone else got to it. Other than the rack and the saddle, it appears to be all original. Other than 2 or 3 three rubs on the paint, it's in excellent condition. It should clean up nicely. I gladly handed the man his $99 asking price. Too bad I'm 6'-1" tall.

Bikes: I used to have many. And I Will again.
I've returned to the fold. At least attempting to start all over again bikes wise.
Today, I picked up a project bike that caught me eye. This $10 find is a 92(?) Alpinestars AL Mega DX mountain bike. It's an E-stay type frame.
It's full of paint dings, and isn't complete. A lot of the Deore DX components are swapped off. Missing a crank and pedals. It does have a later model XTR RD, Tektro V brake, and get this...a Magura hydraulic rear caliper brake! The bar and shifters are gone, replaced with Gripshifts. The wheels are Deore XT off a Trek something. But they are missing their skewers. But the hubs are smooth. A small dent to the rear rim though, hope to bend it out. No tires either, I'd like a pair of 1.5" mtb smoothies for the road.
I am contemplating how to refinish it. Whether to strip it and polish it up.....or repaint, or just clean it and ride it. Regardless, it's going to be good therapy for my troubled soul.

Not a great catch, but nice nonetheless. A pair of Miyata Triplecrosses. They're in pretty good shape and only cost $100 for the pair.

Here's the most recent n+1. Will turn into a great commuter for inclement weather days, Was hanging in a garage for the last 10 years, and the owner can no longer ride it due to balance issues. Cleaned a small part of the top tube to check the level of oxidation in the paint, and to my surprise, it still shines as if it was new. Only a couple of nicks and scratches near the chainstays, and the tires are dry rotted to the point of no return, overall a great bike at a great price, wait for it...free.
