I found a nice Vent Noir II at a thrift store way back for $14.95. It's been several years and several dozen projects but I'm almost recovered from my addiction ;)

This was a cool snag. A Torpado Italia...Sachs components, Columbus Aelle tubing. Low(er) end Italian bike that I might turn into the ideal hanger for the pretty much full 9 speed Daytona/Veloce groupset I've had sitting around waiting for a worthy frame donor. It was rather inexpensive.

Anyone know much about these? Got one? Do they have a following?

Answered an ad today, description was very basic: Race Bike Bad Paint. But the price was pretty attractive, and I was surprised it was around for day 2.

Non-drive side pic, as the brand is pretty obvious from the drive side. Perhaps my best score this year, despite the bad paint. Stay tuned.

I thought about cropping the pic to take the chain stay out.

LesterOfPuppets 12-09-12 04:46 PM

Pinarello.

From your flicker page, choose the BBCode option under Share button, then paste that BBCode right in.

wrk101 12-09-12 04:54 PM

That did not take long. Yes, if you click through, you will see the 9 pics I have on this project.

Shows in general, most potential buyers on C/L have no imagination.

A better example of the bad paint. Frame appears to be all chrome.

Cool bike. Is the RD also matching celeste, or is that a reflection? I would think the seat lug could be welded carefully and just spot painted to match. Be a shame to part out that one. What size is it?

The Derailleur is painted with a celeste inlay. I called Yellow bike in Madison it's around 100 plus painting to have it fixed. still up for consideration, but it is too big for me to ever ride.

Ive got those bulgier pinarello catalog scans memorized. Recognized the colors immediately. :)

My Pin Record that got stolen was all chrome underneath also. I stripped the DT after a bike rack scrape to find that they sanded it for paint prep. So no dice on my plans to have a sweet chrome roadie.

-The Bad- Its too big for me!!!
-The Ugly The seat post lug is cracked, so no amount of tightening will get it to stay in position. I am going to see what a repair and paint will cost, but it may be destined to be split into tiny pieces for sale on ebay.

Just how cheap was this Flea? Would it be worth shipping?

It must be Bianchi week. I found this today at Goodwill. I believe it is a 1987 Bianchi Sport SX (serial number KS776542), full Exage group. Not top of the line for Bianchi, but very nice condition.

Though my wife would argue, I have to say the bike Gods have been smiling on me. Long story short. I went to check out a CL ad from a guy who was selling a group of bikes. What I found was a Centurion Ironman Dave Scott edition (Full 600 group), a Panasonic DX2000, a Raleigh Technium, and a Peugeot Mixte. They are fairly rough, but I haven't been able to look them over very closely. Oh and as I was leaving he said he would through in the one by the fence (pictured below). An Austro Daimler Vent Noir full Dura-Ace group (he had no idea what it was). It is pretty rough, but the components are nice. Not bad for a group price of $150.

Wow, a very nice run of Treks, I love that 613 in red!

guzziee 12-20-12 06:21 PM

Finally had some time to go pick up that red trek. I was reading that the 614 came with a triple and the 613 didn't, so I guess this is a 614?. It came with a very nice bonus :), a like new set of vintage eclipse bags, front rack and original cinelli stem.

Stopped by the second hand store on the way to get tacos... No bikes but we picked up a Mabef sketchbox easel for my daughter.

They retail for almost 400.00 and we paid a tenth of that.

I think she will love it.

Chris_in_Miami 12-20-12 10:20 PM

Wow, please tell me that frame is 56cm or bigger!!

The Eclipse stuff is really nice also, I've got a few of their bags and the same front rack.
