What a find on that Gitane!!

Yes, I'm very lucky to find this bike in such of condition in flea market and its not a stolen bicycle. I paid my previous Gitane frame for 3€, and my LeJeune 4€ all from the same flea market.

Too bad I will not have time to clean/polish this bike, I only have time to take it a part and put inside the box and shipped to Ireland. I'm moving back to Ireland next week

Another $10 flea market find that sat in the garage untouched until Friday. I thought it was going to be parts bike but boredom made me pull it out and get it ready for a CL flip

Does it run 650c? I never seen pedals in that color.

toytech 01-27-13 04:38 PM

It does, it is in the for trade section as a frame set now ;) that is the second set of purple looks I have had, the others were on a purple Miele.

Picked this up today. Crappy pic, but I'm pretty pumped.

rgvr, that is one nice looking Raliegh. Man that is one serious steer tube. Good luck on the flip. What do you think you will get?

Thanks! Can tell by your sig you're a Klein guy. She's straight stock with full Ultegra 6500 triple and Icon Graphite Series bits. I'm going to tune it up, take off reflectors, dork disk, etc., and take it for a long ride. :thumb:

Thanks it had a ton of that greasy fluffy gunk on, so a lot of cleaning to get to the nice bike underneath. Got it on CL @ $185. I'd probably keep it if it were not so tall.

Just picked up a 1982 Takara Competition. Its in typical neglected shape, but the paint is pretty good, and it has a Tange Champion #2 frame.

Got to love this lever set up... but I can use those flat bar levers on another project.

Thanks, it should dress out nice with red bar tape, red cable housings, and gum wall tires.

Same metal flecked black as my Black Lightning, and came originally with mostly 600 componentry.
400 series at that time were True Temper tube in the quick assembly Trek lug system.
Actually a disappointment compared to my 1000 bonded aluminum and 2100 carbon bonded to aluminum lugs.

What size seatpost does this take?

My first find for 2013. Not sure which model it is yet, but it's a good one :)

Did you clean that up, or was it in the dumpster in that condition?

The Trek? That's as-found, took the photo after loading it into the car this morning. The seller said he may have put a couple hundred miles on it since buying it new, and I'm inclined to believe that based on the condition.

shoota 01-30-13 01:04 PM

Oh you bought the Trek.. for a second there I thought you saved it from the dump.

fettsvenska 01-30-13 01:04 PM

You lucky duck...that is quite the find
