Nope. Overpriced by a factor of 2. Early Superbe is basically Cyclone with a different name.

Uh-oh. I better shoot the guy a quick e-mail telling him you're a clueless 'douchbag' hipster so he better not sell it to you.

But seriously, what're you going to do with a tiny thing like that? Don't you have enough projects?

Bianchi Quattro BicycleThis seems interesting, a Columbus framed Bianchi for $150? It looks like a '89 wif the Quattro group but non aero brake levers. Unionville Ct.

Early Trek for those fans. First photo shows a Two Wheel Travel shop sticker at the base of the seat tube. I may have assembled this bike, but someone has stripped the cloth tape and moved the brake levers.

TREK, vintage ('79-81') all original!

TREK, vintage ('79-81') all original! - $200 (Cumberland, VA)

condition: fair

I'm selling my all original TREK bike. GREAT FOR DAILY RIDING OR RESTORATION! I believe it is a '79 to '81 by looking at the SN from those years and by the type of badge on the front. Not sure what the height classification is but, I'm 5'7" and I used it in college to get around. Tires need replacing. The chain is a bit rusty cosmetically but functions just fine. The seat has a chunk out of it about 1"x1" or so. Contact me either by email or, as it's easier for most of us, by text. I will not ship the bike, but we can discuss delivery or meeting up w/in a 50 mi. or so.

This is quiet spendy but I think it is a great looking, and well cared for, early MTB. Look at that stretch, I have driven Peterbuilts with a shorter wheelbase!! Women of World War II - Photos of Coast Guard SPARS $500 clams in Santa Rosa Calif.

The overprice thing I'm not sure about, I haven't seen one of those bikes go on sale for a very very long time.

But I do exception to your comments regarding Superbe being a renamed Cyclone, earliest Superbes were beefed up more than the Cyclone was to give it a bit more snappy shifting response. All Suntours in the late 70's used parallelogram plates so in that vein I guess all Suntour derailleurs were just renamed, but in reality the 1977 Superbe had wider parallelogram plates, stronger knuckles and stainless steel pivot pins which meant it actually weighed more than the Cyclone. Cyclone was the first high end derailleur that Suntour put out 2 years before Superbe, but Suntour decided they needed a higher performance derailleur with a bit better durability for racing purpose so they developed a beefed up Cyclone and called it Superbe, but one look at a Suntour Vx with the way you think would mean the Cyclone was a renamed V Luxe except the Cyclone was beefed up from the V Luxe, so I guess the way you think that Superbe and Cyclone are just renamed V Luxe's

For that year, this replaces the International but loses the NR. The amount of gold actually on the thing is tiny. The Competition is still below it. The Pro is still above it, and Pros go for much less. I can't see this being worth more than a Pro unless it's to a collector. As someone pointed out recently, the Campy NR mechs didn't fail as much as the Suntour, and my anecdotal evidence supports that. This leads to your second comment.....

... so I guess the way you think that Superbe and Cyclone are just renamed V Luxe's
Fair enough.

+1...

It's a production Raleigh with Suntour...2x value is exactly on point. Maybe there's a buyer for this at that price, but if we're talking average value, I'd say $600-$750.

Wow, you're anti Suntour aren't you? I know enough about Suntour to know that their friction systems were much more reliable than either Shimano or Campy or any other brand was from the late 70's until the mid 80's, and they shifted better then those brands, in fact even the cheaper mid level Vx series performed better and had better durability than other brands. Suntour in that era was superior to anything else on the market.

I have two supposedly troubled Suntour derailleurs, one is the Suntour Superbe Tech, this derailleur has over 160,000 miles on it and it never has failed; the other is the Mountech, this one has maybe 1800 miles on it but I doubt I'll have issues with it. In fact the bike that has the Superbe Tech has all Superbe components on it, and they all have over 160k miles on them and never a failure except the front derailleur snapped the band due to rust and the band being too thin in an effort to save weight, but I had the exact derailleur in storage so I slapped that on. Suntour derailleurs also stayed tuned, I rarely had to fiddle with the adjustments.

My Superbe derailleur shifts as fast as my STI or Ergo stuff! Of course with friction the rider needs to know how to use friction to make it work like that, in the hands of a novice they'll be cursing friction. What's really weird is that Shimano SIS shifts faster than STI or Ergo.

But I have sneaky feeling you're trying to start an argument here, it's widely known on all forums and riders who use to use that stuff that Suntour was superior in the day, I think you know that too.

Is this bike in the above discussion? That's a gold chrome frame yes? Again I don't get the Raleigh hype but for a chromed Suntour bike 1200 does seem like a lot. I can get you a good deal on a Crimped Alle frame with "FULL Campagnola" for just over half LOL
