Yes this is an '88 or '89 but doesn't look to have been used much.

1971 Raleigh International Overhauled
[h=2]1971 Raleigh International Overhauled - $900 (weymouth/BraintreeT)[/h]

This is a completely overhauled 1971 Raleigh International with Original paint and chrome. Frame size is 22-1/2".

I purchased this from the original owner. It was in his warm basement stored for over 30 years after he stopped riding it. It has all of the original Campagnolo Nuovo Record components in mint condition. It will come with the original campy record pedals, not the touring pedals in pic. Original Brooks professional saddle in great condition.

I rebuilt the wheelset with butted spokes and new Sun polished box rims clinchers. I also have the original wienmann sew up rims and tires that the buyer can have to keep all the original stuff with the bike. I installed a new 7 speed freewheel with a 28 tooth top gear to get up those hills. A new super narrow chain. This bike shifts amazing and rides like it is on rails with the new pasela 32c folding tires.

I do not have to sell this bike, I just have to many bikes and can not ride them all. This bike is from my personnel collection and I will be sad to see it go. It rides better than new and has very sweet geometry.

If interested call Bill at 781-812-2592. $900 cash firm. If you send an email please include a number or I will assume it is spam. If you are coming from the city and do not drive I will meet you at the BraintreeT station.

What am I missing here?? $850 for a repaired bike that needs a repaint seems INSANE to me. The mixed bag components are also not that special.

I added 250 miles to my Chicago to St Louis road trip today to stop in Madison Wisconsin and pick up this remarkable bike. 500 miles later, I'm home with the bike.

The seller was the original owner and had the sales receipt from 1977. He said the bike was all original except the tubes and the Ideal saddle that was swapped out for the Brooks Professional when the bike was originally purchased. The funny thing is: I have a Brooks Pro on my PX10 and switching it with the Ideal saddle will return both bikes OE.

Every component (except the saddle) match the 1977 Motobecane catalog, including the Michelin Elan tires. The owner said he might have used the bike all of 200 miles and the lack of use is obvious.

It's going to need a tear-down and deep cleaning. There is some corrosion from storage in a basement, but it looks superficial and should clean-up.

I finally have a stock bike from this era that fits me, and I'll clean it up and keep it all original.

That's a ridiculous price, even if the frame was never broken. Plus it's an unusually small frame. The seller is delusional.

I think the value is in the frame, IMO. That looks like a 9 speed group with 105 STI shifters. That frame deserves better parts. If it had a 9 speed Campy group I might have bought it already. Love the paint. I had a Corsa with Team Stuttgart paint. I could imagine the Extra is, ummmm, more better, Lol.

And I wish it had better pictures. Look at the seller history, I don't see many bike sales. He just can't present it very well with the flat tires and NDS main photo. I would ask some detailed questions first and hope he knows how to answer them.

Probably a bit pricey, and obviously the seller isn't a bike person. (no mention of model, what's with the qr for the seatpost? NDS pic, etc). If you're local to the Atlanta area though, it might be worth a look-see:

Those wheels have a reputation for failure. Broken spokes and the nipples can rip right out of the rim. Use with caution if you pick this up.

This VERY tall Mercian has been for sale forever. Price is down to $200 from $600. Parts are a mish-mash, but the frame alone is worth more than the asking.

I was in O'Fallon a couple weeks ago; I guess I should have looked closer at CL. It looks like it would fit my 6'-7" pretty well, and there are a couple empty hooks in the basement. Oh well. Some other tall dude who likes old bikes will get a good deal.
