Vintage Schwinn Decals - $1000 (2240 W. Harvard Ave., Visalia, CA)

See pictures. Vintage Schwinn bicycle decals never used. There are 1079 and they are in excellent shape. Many are very, very collectible for those restoring vintage bicycles. Great EBay items. These decals came out of the family Schwinn bicycle shop. These have been in storage for years. The shop was recently sold. 1082 decals for $1000.

Not sure if this is a deal or not, but if I were getting into the business of restoring Schwinns, there'd be a bunch of useful stuff in that lot.

1964 Raleigh 3 speed Roadster bicycle

1964 Raleigh 3 speed Roadster bicycle - $275 (Highland Park) < >

Here's a superb example of a classic early 60s Raleigh 3 speed Roadster, made in Nottingham England. Roadsters used "roller-lever" brakes operated by rods, instead of cables. Has some surface rust; the rust on the chrome comes off very easily with some steel wool. It rides great and will last until long after you and I are gone. Come and try it out!

It's on my Watch list too... I've never even seen a Rivendell, but have enjoyed the countless threads about G.P. here an elsewhere. Curious. And it's ORANGE!

Any guesses about where the bidding will end up?

magnesium frame bike: not sure why he didn't take some better pics...

1988 Futuristic Magnesium frame Kirk

if I had the money to burn i might be tempted just as a collector. For riding... you might want to X-ray the bike for cracks first as magnesium alloys tend to break down with exposure and time. anyone want some old magnesium ducati wheels? great for hanging on your wall, but death traps on the road.

Too many

26 complete, including the two tandems, one frame, one project close to complete (having a hard time sourcing the right rim(s)). The wife has two as well.

The near complete project is pretty cool...Jeirvine facilitated. It's definitely one you'll appreciate...sort of in your wheel house.

I've read that the LeMond Alpe d'Huez has a long top tube. Does it require an aggressive riding position, do you know?
TIA.

Well, the frame tubing is pretty high quality for a Free Spirit but the components place it pretty squarely in the low-to-mid-range on an absolute scale for bikes, even of that period. Stem shifters, safety levers, multi-piece steel hubs, etc. The Maxy crank is alloy but was bottom end alloy even back in the day. I'd be interested to know the frame geometry on this one, whether it is built with some sporting flair--the frame angles look pretty slack--or was just made up on the same frame jigs because they thought they needed an upscale tubing decal on their stuff. Lots of Sears stuff of the day was made by Puch, but this looks like it has an English wrapover on the seat stays.
