That might be worst single speed conversion ever, short of the one where the shifter bosses were sawed off.

Not sure how other states are,but the Indiana Goodwill auction the bikes are at the main hub in Indiana. You cannot go back in the warehouse to view the bikes and you cannot go in there to purchase the bikes. You pay through paypal and go to the hub to pick up the bike. I have bought a few bikes there at extremely low prices.

Interesting. The CL prices for bikes in Indiana have been surprisingly high lately, so it would be nice to have another option.

That is a nice Motobecane, someone in our neck of the woods was selling a similar one which I think could be a Nomade but maybe it's even a better model. 78-80 I'd guess.

Out of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, Motobecane Nomade frame, yes, they can often be bought on the cheap indeed, still, $75. 2 sets of eyelets in the back, nicely lugged.

I agree, here in Fort Wayne I see somewhat more reasonable prices but even here the seller goes to Ebay finds a similar bike and price's it accordingly. But if you take a trip on CL to Indianapolis it's a lot worse for elevated prices. Fort Wayne's biggest problem is just a huge number of junk bikes being sold and some of that junk goes for more money than it's worth, but they attach the words "vintage" and "racing bike" to a Schwinn Varsity and think they can get $250 for it.

That sounds about right all over Northern Indiana, Northwest Indiana and Central Indiana. A lot of junk, some overpriced dreamers and a few flippers. I post everything cheap/interesting I find, and they don't last long.

I'm holding out hope for a couple of treasures in the spring yard sale season.

I'm sure the seller has that wrong. There's no way that Bontrager paired spoked wheel is 27".

Raleigh bike for sale

Short standover. To me, it appears it is a Nottingham Raleigh, Record or Record Ace? For $55 not too bad. Chrome tipped fork.<--- May be a Super Record. ( https://oldtenspeedgallery.com/blog/w...-record-02.jpg )

He/She sells bicycles all the time; so they may know what they are doing and a price reduction because they may well have more bikes waiting to be sold.

They are selling the New Yorker from last week too and other bikes: The new yorker bike

This is a classy custom built Bridgestone RB-1. Everything is proper Japanese components except for the saddle and tires. It doesn't get any better than this. Professionally built and maintained. Paint and decals were redone recently and the drivetrain has no more than 2000 miles on it.

Original Ritchey Force/Nitto stem
Ritchey/Nitto seatpost
Nitto M179 STI handlebars
Selle San Marco Regale saddle

Beautiful hand welded Basso bike

[h=2]Beautiful hand welded Basso bike - $600 (Somerville)[/h]

condition: like new

do NOT contact me with unsolicited services or offers
I fell in love with this bike the moment I saw it because it's beautiful and rides like butter. It's lightweight and because of the kind of steel and how it's welded together (by hand, in Italy), it's a smooth ride over bumps, light, and fast. Sadly, the bicycle is too big for me, hence the reason it's looking for a new owner. It measures 55.5 centimeters.
Suggestion: you should be taller than 5'3".

The specs: Basso, Columbus XLS Lugged, Shimano 105 Brakes, Shimano 600 Derailleur, Mavic Wheels, Victoria tires. The pics don't really show the color of it very well. It's white, with purple triangles on the top tube, and yellow details.

The bike had only one owner before me, and they never really rode it, so it's in pretty close to mint condition, except for a few things I swapped out. I added brakes on the top bar for added visibility while riding in the city, fenders, and a better seat. I bought it from a bike shop, so it was tuned up as well. Sweet, sweet, bike - I'll be sad to see it go!

Colnago MXL, NOS rims and parts near New Bern NC

FOR SALE COLNAGO

OK, I tried a couple of times on this one without success, maybe some of you Tarheels will have more luck. I first contacted this seller when I was visiting family in NC last fall. I got a friendly email reply next day asking me to call and set up a time to meet. Only other info supplied was "lots of seats, gears, and other parts". I called, emailed, etc, no reply. I wonder if I sounded creepy on my voice mail.

I saw the ad pop up again last month and emailed again, no reply. Anyway, based on the pics in the ad I would think there's a lot of nice stuff. If anyone succeeds but doesn't want the frame, it's my size, let me know, I'll come get it!

Dayton Ohio goodwill auction, just missed a Black Lightning in a bid. Ended up selling for $77 and change. I would've went higher if not for the 4 hour round trip drive. Oh well....

Maybe something for near Gainesville or Ocala FL:
[h=2]1970s classic Campagnolo bicycle - $100 (Morriston, FL)[/h]
I really wanted this bike, but the seller flaked on me and I had to leave town. Supposedly a Campagnolo frame (not), maybe the dropouts or components are Campy? Looks Motobecane-ish from the insufficient picture. Looks 60s/70s as indicated, high flange hubs, TT clamps, chrome socks etc.

Anyway, I texted this person earlier today before leaving Gainesville (work) and they texted back 'the bike was available, come over'. So I drove 40 minutes out of my way then sat and waited at a rural gas station while they ignored my texts and calls. Gave them the benefit of the doubt, then had to eventually leave and drive back to Atlanta. If you want to give it a try, might be worthwhile, I recommend to call versus text though. Bike is too small for me, but if the frame is straight, with the chrome I see, it's probably worth $100 alone. Anything Campy added is bonus

1970s classic Campagnolo bicycle

(click for larger)

Beautiful 1970s Classic Campagnolo bicycle. White with minimal red accents. Super light metal composite frame, quick tach rims, with new tubes and tires. Rides beautiful, super comfortable seat not original to the bike. It's a great bike, $100 OBO call or text 1-585-831-0357
