Very Nice.

That Davidson is nice but I agree for a small builder and 20yo DA $1200 seems a bit much.

I just used my bike funds for a bit...something modern, but pretty interesting none the less. You have some of the nicest bikes on this forum...love your taste.

Sheesh - that guy has some amazing bikes - I love the Ritchey. 73' De Rosa...2 x Rene Herse...WOW. That team Raleigh!

I have a feeling his stuff is out of my current budget.

Thanks! I hear you about the funds. When it rains, it pours. The Mercier, Paramount, and Bianch frame set all just fell in my lap, and wiped out my bike fund. And, I still haven't even come close to finishing my Frejus, Vic Edwards, etc. I have about 4 functioning bikes and 10 projects at the moment....

That's been available on Philly CL for a month and I wouldn't anticipate it flying off the shelves. It's a Ross with a kick stand and suicide levers. Sure - it has some nice parts on it, but they aren't that valuable. $150 is fair, but it's not a steal either.

another Davidson for $1200

Pink Davidson on NYC CL... if someone wants to buy this now and sell it to me (at least the frame) in a month or so I would be ok with that!

https://newyork.craigslist.org/que/bik/3039028868.html
Yep.

She'd never sell locally at that price.

Maybe not even at $600.

Some mid priced goodies have just been sitting around here lately.
The NY seller's pricing seems to be influenced by this Davidson that has been languishing in the CT craigslist since this winter!

Davidson Impulse Road Bike - $1200 (Mystic, Connecticut)

Davidson Impulse Road Bike

21 1/2"(51cm),
Shimano 600 14 Speed,
Continental Grand Spree 3000 Tires,
NAVIC Rims,
Maganese/Specialized Body Geometry Competition Seat,
Look clip on 296 Racing Pedals.
Tange Prestige Steel Frame,
Bike has a $500 Custom Paint Job,
Bike is in excellant condition and comes with a Garmin GPS.

All of these Davidsons are getting under my skin.

Cool color scheme.

I may have to try one soon.

You are correct. He's selling (or, has sold) just about all of his bikes. He's about to become a papa, and is making room. Most of the bikes are big bucks, but he asked a very low amount for the Mercier when I was out in AZ last month. I hemmed and hawed about getting it back to Chicago. So, he offered to ship it for free. Wouldn't even take a deposit. He didn't even cash the check until a few weeks after I received the bike. He even threw in a couple of BEAUTIFUL vintage wool Mercier jerseys.

Great guy.

[h=2]Custom Curtlo Touring Road bike[/h]True Temper OX Steel frameset with a 51.5cm top tube, 41cm seat tube & 700c Wheels.
Circa 1997. Great road bike that has been on a couple of tours on the frameset. No crashes or dings to the frame.
Components have all been upgraded or replaced when worn out...Shimano XT / XTR / Dura Ace components with Topline cranks, Suntour MD Chainrings, Shimano Dura Ace 9 speed bar-end shifters with newer Shimano Dura ace 12-25 9s cassette and brand new chain, cables, and cable housing. Newer Vittoria Randonneur Cross Pro Tires 700 x 32c with only 300 miles or so on them on Mavic 36h rims are ready for all types of touring terrain.
To round out the components, there is the Velo Orange Stem with Cinelli Giro 38cm handlebars. New Deda synthetic handlebar grips with a new synthetic saddle match quite nicely. MKS pedals spin smoothly as ever (These are great platform pedals that will take clips), fenders, blackburn rack and a tail light.
- $900
