Looks like '88 Giro with a Bianchi Formula 1 frame but I agree it is about a $300-350 bike. seems like it needs lots of cleaning and TLC

It looks to me like a Japanese built bike. I'll bet it's a great rider!

Are the Japanese Bianchi's share the same ride quality of the Italian ones?

Sorry for off topic question. I just need to know this, because there are Japanese made ones that sometimes shows up in CL that are my size. But I always pass up thinking they might be inferior in ride quality.

How rare is a pink De Rosa in a large size? And outfitted with a Campagnolo 50th group? I think it is really under priced at $2500

BGirl's opinion is superior, but, I've heard that the ride quality is as good, and the build quality can be as good or even better. I personally used to own an Italian Bianchi, never had a Japanese. My Italian was pretty heavy. I think one could get a lighter Japanese in the same size, esp. with high end Tange frame, like Infinity.

This is a new 1982 Bridgestone Serius road bike from a closed Bridgestone dealer. It has been in a sealed box and rubber parts and tires (Bridgestone of course) are just like new. The components are Suntour Cyclone the second best Suntour offered just below Superbe. The frame is double butted cromoly and the bike weighed 23 pounds according to the catalog, the exact same as the later RB1. This is a link to the catalog https://sheldonbrown.com/bridgestone/...%20catalog.pdf . The Serius is shown on page 4. The picture is of a 25" identical to the 23" for sale. I have already sold the 25" Local sale only. The bike can be seen at the Riverside T stop. Please include a valid phone number or I will not respond.

I found one locally, 1982 as well for $400 but it is not NOS/new. Is that too much?

I think that's pretty ambitious for CL myself. MAYBE on eBay, but a pretty used 50th gruppo on a really large frame with patina...$2500 seems high range to me.

$500 for a Japanese/Taiwanese Cilo above?
https://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/bik/3033485856.html
Seems like Boston prices are similar to NYC's!

There's a Cilo w/ a Tange (Infinity?) frame & Exage components near Harrisburg, PA in much better condition
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Used-Cilo-Sp...item4d015640fe

eBay local pickup only should keep the price reasonable - $80 w/ 4 days left

Not a screaming deal, but Madison prices on vintage stuff are high anyway. It's been relisted several times now -- I'm shocked it hasn't sold yet. I'd hit it just to try a "french fit" frame, but it would take me a couple of years to get around to building it.

I think it is simply a matter of the model. some of the lowerend bikes simply by virture of the materiel will not ride as lively as the Italian steel. But when you start looking at some of the higher end Asain bikes like the '90/91 Alfana and Virata with a Prestige that could rival a SL framed bike for ride quality. I do agree that quite often the paint and decal finish of the Asian built bikes was better than the Italian frames.

While it has not been out on the road for sometime my first Bianchi (and first ever new bike) was a Japanese built '87 Sport SX. It has a Tange CroMo frame w/ manganese stays and I dare say it road almost as well as the Sl frame I got the following year. The SL/SP mix of the frame just climbed and accelerated (not that I accelerate well) better. but as far and general riding and dampening they were pretty even.

1975 Windsor Competition, 56 cm Tange Champion double butted cro-moly frame and forks. Universal Super 68 brakes with Mathauser finned brake shoes.
Wheelsmith built wheels with Specialized (Sansin) sealed bearing hubs and Wheelsmith Saturne rims. Suntour winner freewheel.
Suntour Cyclone derailleurs with sealed bearing pullys. Sugino Mity Compe crankset with KKT Pro-Ace pedals. Selle San Marco saddle. English bb and headset.
This bike is a museum peice. It's in excellent condition. It's a dream to ride, I've done two metric centurys on it since I overhauled it. $350 and worth a lot more.
When you call, let it ring a dozen times so that I can put down what I'm doing and get to the phone.
I'm around quite a bit but the best time to call is 11am to 2pm (except Sun), or 9pm to 1am (except Tue and Thur). Eric 781-235-4762

Not a screaming deal, but Madison prices on vintage stuff are high anyway. It's been relisted several times now -- I'm shocked it hasn't sold yet. I'd hit it just to try a "french fit" frame, but it would take me a couple of years to get around to building it.

" French Fit"?? This is kind of tempting, I have kind of wanted a Holdsworth for years for some reason. Has onyone seen this? or gotten better pics?
