Turin bike shops were in Chicago and Denver during the bikeboom years. I bought one in 1971. Mine was a rebranded Belgian frame with French and Japanese components Mine came with a Brooks B-17 which I still have.

Information
Lugged steel. Not certain of tubing, but most likely Columbus SL. Columbus decals on fork legs still remain. Pantographs on fork crown and seat stay caps. Fender mounts. Frame has some cosmetic damage (normal wear and tear of a bike) but frame is structurally intact - no dents, cracks, etc.

[h=2]Raleigh International 1974 - $650[/h] 1974 Raleigh International in Champaign. The bike has all Campagnolo drive train, headset and seatpost and original Weinmann brakes and levers with Carlton marked hoods, white Velox end plugs and Brooks Professional saddle. The chrome is perfect, the paint has the scratches, and surface rust you have to expect on a 40-year-old bike and that is reflected in the price. The frame is a 23 1/2" that Raleigh recommended for a rider 5'9" to 6'2". It currently has piod correct Weinmann clincher rims and tires but if you prefer the original sewups, you can have those instead. Either set of wheels would be mounted to Campagnolo Nuevo Record hubs and the sewups would have the original AVA rims. If you are not familiar with the bike it is Reynolds 531 butted frame forks and stays built at the Carlton Works in Worksop England who built all of Raleigh's racing and top of the line bikes during this period. The lugs on the head tube and the fork crown are chromed Nervex and the forks and stays have chromed socks as the chromed ends were called. For a lot of vintage bike lovers this is their grail bike because of the reputation for doin everything well and looking good in the process. Up for sale is a vintage mid-late 1980's Vitus 979 road bike. This bicycle was Vitus highest quality production model at the time and was handmade in France using a bonded aluminum construction process by TVT (a French aerospace company) utilizing a dry heat activated epoxy method of joining the tubes together. This is the Frame that Sean Kelly rode in 1980s to victories in his 1986, 1987 and 1988 Paris-Nice wins, as well as the 1998 GC win at the Vuelta a Espana. A fine example of one of France's finest production model aluminum bikes from that era. This Vitus features a 54 cm frame featuring Mavic Rims, and Inner Frame Cable Routing on the Top Tube plus, Ultegra 600 componentry, 3T Handlebars, Bar End Shifters .Recently, Professionally tuned, and ready for its new owner.The 979 is a lugged aluminum bicycle. Although it's not the oldest aluminum bike, it's probably the first to gain widespread use in the pro peloton, most notably used by Sean Kelly (multiple TdF green-jersey winner and all-round cool Irish guy) of KAS for many seasons. The 979 is considered a bonded frame, in that the frame tubing is heat-bonded into the aluminum lugs through an adhesive and heat-bonding. Interestingly, the OUTER diameter of the frame tubing is larger than the INNER diameter of the lugs, making for a rather tight fit. A finished 979 is an extremely light, yet sturdy frame--among the lightest made before 1990--and provides an extremely comfortable ride. The Vitus 979 is a true classic of cyclosport history which was revolutionary for its time and is still highly prized by collectors today. The 979 was among the first wave of aluminium-framed bikes to replace steel tubing in pro peloton, most notably under Sean Kelly who rode a 979-framed bike in several Tours de France."
