This seems almost too good to be true: handbuilt SLX frame, Dura Ace components, flashy colour for $250.

A classic steel lugged frame of slx Columbus tubing. Mostly Dura Ace components, including brakes, crank, shifters, derailleurs, and seat post. 8 speed cassette. Bike has been well maintained but not ridden the past few years.

The chainring teeth might be a bit worn but I would jump on this if I lived nearby. Love that paint and chrome.

Thank goodness these large framed bikes aren't near me or I'd be in even more trouble with my wife than I already am from this summer. I'm starting to think that she might be right when she says, "We have too many bikes!"...

I must stop looking at le bon coin. 5 bikes in 2 months is too much. Tonights aquisition, 20€:

The hoods are sticky with age which is a shame, but it seems to be a decent frame, 57 x 56, and the cranks look pretty good.
I put this in the Whacky World thread but I think it should be here.

That seller changed his ad about 4 times including the price, it was up to $95 before he pulled it. Apparently, no less than 5 people called him about the bike. The first guy that came to look at it snagged it.

......and that first guy was ME

The frame is a little big but I can ride it.

Glad to help out. I couldn't tell the model, but I knew it wasn't your basic gaspipe Schwinn. I did the same with a PX10 about 8 years ago when I was scanning CL constantly.

I came across the ad 30 minutes after it was posted and set up a time with the seller, then came here and then saw your post. It's an '87 Schwinn Tempo(The teal and white paintjob was a dead giveaway, I believe that's exclusive to '87), the frame is probably 25." The only way I can ride it is with the saddle in the lowest position possible. It has a Shimano 105 group/nice San Marco white leather saddle that will need some cleaning.

Don't know the story on this Ron Cooper frame. Looks from the feedback like he sold it once for $650 and didn't deliver, then upped the price to $750? Must be a repaint as well based on the last picture. Perhaps I should put it in the Wacky World thread.

I was JUST on fleabay last night searching for one of those... but I have been forbidden from buying any more bikes this year by she-who-must-be-obeyed... Your link doesn't seem to work...

If that Bridgestone XO-1 is in decent condition, that price can't be beat!

Was driving into work today and I always have to pass by a thrift store on my way in. Out of the corner of my eye I see a beautiful white roadie that's obviously a vintage of some sort. I practicallly peel off the road and hop out of my car. I'm trying to make out parts with my crappy eyesight as I move closer. Oh my god, could it be? Is this my unicorn find? The head badge is getting clearer.............. JC Penny. Ugh.

If you decide it's too big for you, let's talk.

I was exchanging emails with the seller as well as a facilitator here but each time I asked for the seller's number, he would balk, I think there is something odd going on here. But it is certainly worth a try...I wanted it for my girlfriend, it would fit her perfectly. C'est la vie.
