Yes, they do. The hood ornament, aka "mascot," aka "leaper" is the icing on the cake.

Looks like the remains of the post are still in there. It's a job for a real expert now, one not charging by the hour.

I couldn't find the Craigslist Mountain thread so is it okay to post my question here?

If so, I found this mountain bike for less than $300. I was wondering if its a good deal

They have a completely different and updated Jaguar-designed and built engine coupled with a ZF German built automatic transmission and new suspension system and brakes. Electical problems are rare and easily repaired. Even in an XJ-40, look for one that is clean, rust-free, and current in its repairs and maintenance, or great expense will ensue. I sold my last one, an XJ-40 Vanden Plas, in very good condition, for $3,000 cash in 2010. New in 1992, it sold for nearly $60k.

I also disrecommend, with great prejudice, the early 2000's Jag X-type, aka, baby Jag. The darn engine was shoehorned in so tightly under the hood that what should have been minor repairs required the engine and trans to be removed, from under the car, as an assembly. Add to that the fact that they came from the factory with a leaking oil pan gasket that was not under warrantee and, yep, the engine had to come out and be separated from the tranny to fix it. It was based on a German Ford car and came with numerous in-built problems one would expect from a Taurus.
You know your Jaqs, what about the S type? I hurt my lower back and test drove an S type and it was the only car I drove that I could no longer feel my back hurting, and having owned several British cars in the past and knew people that owned much more modern ones I chickened out because it was a Jaq!

Well the seller is asking 3K for it but even if I had the money I would want it much closer or under 2K. The paint looks rough on the edges and I would almost expect it isn't running. I just though it was cool because it was Celeste or real close to it.

When did Ford actually buy and start designing/speccing them? Think they are any better since TATA motors owns them?

Ford purchased Jaguar in 1990, not sure when they were designed by Ford.

I always assumed it was a taste acquired during the Blitz, and the younger generations just picked it up out of habit.

In the family fleet- masochist owned '73 XJ12-L. Its a cool car.

Anyhow, back to bike topic and fleabay: Noticed lately some very suspicious seller(s) of early / vintage parts out of Portugal selling on eB / US. To avoid slander backlash, I won't specifically point them out. I was ready to bid and noticed a stock / identical photo from another seller last month. My curiosity led on and noticed potential shill as well. Suspicious very low feedback and all private sales. Possible shill activity is a zero feedbacker. We're all big boy's and girl's, just be careful-

Also, I'm not so sure where the problematic online activity happened to me lately, but my bank automatically sent me a letter including new card. The letter stated they found suspicious online attempts with my account and hence the replacement card.

LOL, actually cellar temperature (around 55 degrees) beer has more and better flavor than cold beer does, but still I prefer cold beer but I only prefer dark beer I can't stand the piss water beer that's so popular in the US. Usually the finest beers are served this way, the cheaper beers like what you find mostly in America won't taste good so cold it goes to hide the taste problems. In a nut shell it has something to do with the more quality beers are top fermented and if chilled it will prevent the beer from maturing all the way and when poured the yeast remains in suspension and will not clear properly; lower quality and highly abundant bottom fermented beer with it's lower quality taste benefits from being chilled. So why did Brewers go in the direction of bottom fermented beer? Profit, it was cheaper to make beer this way and as long as the public bought into it they had a winner, over the years beer in America (non craft beers) have steadily gotten worse because the public, like the principle of boiling a frog, has grown accustom to schity beer.

Aluminum road bike
[h=2]Aluminum road bike - $150 (Bridgewater)[/h]

© craigslist - Map data © OpenStreetMap

15 Plymouth Street
(google map) (yahoo map)

condition: good size / dimensions: 58-60

Schwinn (not your parents' Schwinn) model 754 racing/triathalon bike from the late 80s-early 90s
• 58 or 60 cm frame, 33 1/4 stand-over height
• in excellent running condition though cosmetically only good; seat has a tear that doesn't affect comfort
• Suntour GPX components
This is a really good bike for the money; it probably sold for upwards of $700 new. I bought it at a yard sale for a friend but it's too big for him.

Some background information on the bike and its components:

This is a rare 54cm Tommasini Velocista frameset. It's often said that only 100 were made. I originally purchased this bike as a project but I just don't have time to complete it. The original wheelset was sold but everything else is complete. Here are the details:

Columbus MAX tubeset
Full Campagnolo Chorus groupset with Daccordi pantographs on most components

I believe this bike is from the early '90s. The condition is quite good but it needs a thorough cleaning. One important issue to note is evidence of spray paint on the rear triangle. It will need some detailing to remove and I advise you to inspect it beforehand.

Asking $600 OBO.
I emailed and received no reply.Anyone else try?

Profit is right, but the craft brewing industry was largely killed by prohibition. Only the big, who could diversify with malting or something else, survived. They were already corporate, so they did what corporations do: take over. Watch "Beer Wars" - a slightly one-sided, but very interesting look into the last century of beer in America. The big guys, one of whom is quoted on camera, are really good at marketing the same crap over and over - different day, same Schmidt. Actually, they do one thing remarkably well (given the vast quantity of beer they make): brew consistently the same... crap.

And for the record, no beer lives in the fridge at my house... unless that fridge is at 55 F. Back to bikes...

I didn't actually originate this thread. A moderator chopped it, and my post was consequentially on top.
