$550.00 uo8????

So I swear I've been seeing this bike repeatedly posted on E-bay for at least a year now for the same insane price of $550.00.
Wouldn't you think the guy would figure out it'll never sell at that price?

Well, the guy might be crazy. But a quick review of his completed auctions shows he has done pretty good, and got some wild high prices. He does mainly buy it now, so he only has to catch one fish to get a high price (auctions tak at least two fishes),

Just the shipping (at least to my location) is more than the bike is worth ($177)...

At least he took the time to clean it and get it ready to ride.

Oh, right. That's the same guy who keeps listing a Moto Grand Record for a laughable price. I think he's just trying to draw sales in to his other flotsam.

It's a storefront in Madison. They've been discussed repeatedly here.
About ten years back, they had decent, if high prices. Their prices now have no relation to reality. Ten years ago, they had some nice stock. I last visited them about four-five years back, and their prices had gone way up, the quality of their stock way down.
I bought one of my PXs there ten years back, 300$. High at the time, but ballpark. Less than this UO, I sadly note.

I just looked at more of his items and judging by the price on his bikes I'm guessing he's in no hurry whatsoever to sell most of them.
A gaspipe Austro-Daimler for $450.00?

I think this same bike is for sale in Minneapolis for $65, in similar condition.

Is that the same Budget?!? I Love their service/parts store(different location). Their mechanics are really friendly and helpful. But their used bike store guys must be smoking some good **** for the prices they're asking and the crap they'll feed you for why they're asking so much. I went in there a couple times when I first started getting into the C&V thing and... Well, like I said, they must be smoking the good stuff. They act completely different too. Sometimes I have trouble believing they're owned by the same person. I can only imagine it's because they actually get those prices from it being a Major biking college town. There is always some poor soul out there test riding a bike whenever I go by. I guess it's easier to sell 1 bike/day to a sucker for $600 than 3 bikes/day at $200.

Compared to Yellow Jersey, any service is friendly and accessible. It's kind of like winning the "taller than Gary Coleman" contest, you know? You don't have to be real tall to win. I dunno. All the mechanics at BBC I've talked to (one who has an orange Rambouillet with Super LJs on it is extra-nice) know their stuff. I've certainly never been kicked any attitude, but I don't ask dumb questions, either.
