Someone should save it. Plus, the dude has mounted fenders, but completely missed the eyelets :)

Yup, I sure did. Small world :)

That is beautiful. I like old lighting and lamp stuff. Have a small collection of weird old bulbs, shades and parts. Dabble in lamp making. May I quote you here?: "Hand made stuff is the best, it has character."

Yup! Just visiting Delft and riding a rental bike around when I spotted it :) It's a pretty amazing coincidence.

Here are a few of Luxembourg, my home away from home for this trip. It's such a beautiful city, and I can't wait to get back!

New Brakes

Here's a few shots of my new Paul's Racer Centerpull brakes, which replaced some Campagnolo sidepulls that were never quite right. They're mounted on my 1967 Carlton "The Flyer". I also replaced a cheapo seatpost with this beautiful Campagnolo one after much polishing.

The rear cable hanger was actually a bit of a trick. The hanger on the frame had a tiny hole that wasn't threaded and it wasn't big enough to thread it for a typical barrel adjuster. After looking through the bins at a bike shop, I found some chromed steel barrel adjusters that are thinner, designed to fit in inline stops for indexed shifting adjustments. I found the right size tap in my set (4 mm with a very fine thread, if I remember correctly), carefully tapped the frame, and it all worked very nicely. I think I'll get a couple more of these for little projects like this.

edit: I should add that the brakes work very nicely. Excellent stopping power, excellent modulation, many degrees of adjustment are possible.

Nice Paul's Racer. Front lugs interesting.

YoKev, many thanks for all those great pics. And they are. Really enjoyed them.

+1 This thread is pretty awesome. I hope I'm able to visit Luxembourg some day.

EBH 02-24-13 12:19 AM

Yeah, Luxembourg seems a beautiful city.

Absolutely not trying to be rude. Just really surprised by the question.

You have Lived in a big City all your life haven't you?

We need to get you out in the country and thats a lot close then you think.

One of those is female one is male. The male looks like it has 4 ears.. the front protrusions are his antlers coming in. They still have skin on them

I actually had a Black Bear living in my Neighborhood and I'm 20 minutes from down town Atlanta. By now means out in the sticks. Keep finding Scat along my fence line. Neighbor said he saw him go over my fence into my back yard. Local TV crew got video of him.

Spotted this Sears bike at a flea market this morning. Subtle purple/red fade and an amazing floral saddle:

I also saw what appeared to be a pair of Darth Vader lamps until I got closer. They were just a pair of masks hanging on a pair of lamps :(
