How about another "from the cockpit" shot?

That's BFer Scozim up ahead, just to the right of the stem, during Saturday's Manastash Metric Century in Eastern Washington.

This was the last load. The shop has now all been moved to its new location, and all of it with this(sans roof). Much as I love my other bikes, I was born for this one.

We go to the Yucatan every summer and see these cargo bikes everywhere. I try to the kids how cool they are but I just get that gazed over look from them.

What kind of shop? I always assumed you were retired and living there in the winter.

My kids, who finally learned to ride their bikes without assistance. The funny thing is that they both figured it out on the same afternoon, together. Talk about synchronous learning!

Sorry, no pic, but a link to a video:

Congratulations to your kids. Dropping training wheels is a huge milestone. Nice work

Thanks! Ha, yeah, my wife and I kept laughing and repeating that comment all day. It doesn't get much better than that!

A big thanks to CapeCodder for finding the bag and offering a sweet deal.

Great photos , and I just remembered I have the same bag in red in my basement just collecting dust. I should trade it to someone who needs it...

No excuse with the new yellow bag for "Sporty," a customized '71 Schwinn Super Sport.

We live here full time. I play with wood--owned a portable sawmill for 12 years, and so got into woodworking. I have a tablesaw, jointer, router, and hand tools.

Edit: I go to Ohio to work for a month or two in the summer, and to visit my ageing parents.

Here are some pics from this past weekend's HONK! fest parade. The HONK! fest is a grass-roots festival of music with musicians coming from all over the world to play right in the streets of the busiest square of our city for an entire weekend. The festival culminates in a parade with all the bands and some friendly protest messages thrown in for good measure). The public is welcome to join in, whether on foot or on on pedal-powered wheels. And the pedal people were out in full force!

Ha, actually there were quite a lot of funk-type bands, Bootsy would have fit right in. And lots of New Orleans second-line style brass.

Oh, then you'd hate living in Somerville-- headquarters of SCUL:

http://www.scul.org/skynet/index.phphttp://www.scul.org/skynet/index.php

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SCUL

Careful, perusing the SCUL site may give you an aneurysm.

From wiki:

Quote:

SCUL (once short for Subversive Choppers Urban Legion, now not an acronym for anything) is a Boston area bicycle nerd gang that builds and rides mutant bicycles, chopper bicycles, and tall bikes. It is composed of three divisions, the Somerville-based Metro Alpha Division (MAD), the Rural Combat Division (RCD) which is based in Maine, and the Southern Beta Division (SBD) of Providence, Rhode Island. Currently the Metro Alpha Division is the only active division.

SCUL spun off of a group called the Flying Donuts in 1995,[1] and is organized in a paramilitary fashion with a hierarchical ranking structure, distinct naval/space terminology and a sci-fi atmosphere. Ranks are reset each year, and advancement criteria include receiving a high five from a bystander and crushing cups.[2]

SCUL conducts "missions" every Saturday night from April Fool's until Halloween. A typical mission involves routine patrolling of the local "star-systems" (cities), getting high-fives from civilians they pass and crushing discarded soda cups on the street. Occasionally, they will stop to hone their "flight skills" with some friendly bicycle derby. Centuries (100-mile rides), Intergalactic and Interuniversal Missions (across state or country borders) have also been completed.

On August 25, 2005, the Coolidge Corner Theatre premiered the SCUL movie "Operation, Super Posi".

They also made a television appearance on the PBS show Design Squad, an episode in season 1 called "Skunk'd" (named after Skunk, the founder and fleet admiral of SCUL).

SCUL is loosely allied with the Rat Patrol and is similar in many ways to other bike gangs such as C.h.u.n.k. 666 and the Black Label Bike Club.

If you see them, give them a high-five and they will respond in kind.

I baked this last week for Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New Year). I've made many challahs before but this is my first round one. I got the braiding procedure from youtube.
