good luck with the crowds, i'm sure you're coming down cause it's spring break for the kids...? same for most schools around here too. Disneyland has the potential to destroy anyone's spirits very quickly when its the busy season. that being said, if you get a chance to take it easy and just leisurely walk around it is pretty good time, especially with the kids. have fun!

Yep, spring break. Tied to the D-II college in our town. My wife and I were just at the Anaheim Convention center 4 weeks ago and my daughter came back from Disneyland for a school trip this past Sunday and she's turning around to do it again. She doesn't mind.

We'll stop in Redding tonight after 11 - 12 hrs in the van. The kids have done quite well and I've relaxed since my wife decided to drive.

The "bus" in central Oregon:

Had to stop by a Greek Orthodox for some incredible baklava:

Pipe cleaners provided some good entertainment especially for my goofy daughter:

She's the one was irritating her 17 yo brother who, in turn, was irritating her. She asked, "mom, do you have those pills for the car that makes you go to sleep (dramamine)". Reply, "Yes, we have it." I reached to pass one back to her and she promptly said (completely dead pan) , "good, give it to Galen he's irritating." That provided quite a laugh in the car especially since he had his headphones on and didn't hear it.

Went on a nice ride today and brought my camera. I haven't done much winter biking before this year, but this fall before the snow came fate delivered me an old Scott mountain bike. I thought it would be a great winter bike and it has proved me correct. Even without studded tires this has got me through some thick snow. Its heavy as hell but I figure it should get me in good shape for riding this summer.

Conan, nice pics. That looks like New England. Or it could be anywhere.

How do you clean up your bike after a ride like that?

Conan 03-16-13 01:56 PM

Thanks! Its Wisconsin actually. To clean it I leave it outside, then fill up a bucket of hot water and dump it several times. Then I take some de-greaser and spray down the derailleurs and other moving parts. Then dump more hot water. Then bring it in and let it drip dry on the entry way floor, lol. A mess but worth the fun.

Yeah, our dog got into a cushion or two. He kind of outgrew it.

From today's ride.

Sixty Fiver, how much snow did you get?

Here is Waffle the greyhound in her favorite place in the world: in the car, with my wife and me. When she's not lying down on the back seat, she has her head out the window, which I allow at speeds of 40 mph and lower.

Here is my wife while we do repairs on the walls and kitchen cabinets. She's standing on a counter top because she's smaller and lighter than I am.

The recent snowfall topped us up to where we have three feet of snow piled up... looks like we got 6 inches of new snow which is laying on top of a frozen and compact base.

The Pug is sitting on that frozen base and we got more snow after I took this picture.

The front brake on the commuter. Could have ridden today, but the weatherman blew the forecast and the expected sleet is nowhere to be seen.
