Finally got my centurion frame.
It took over 22 days, but had it built in a few hours. Need some hoods and possibly a brown avocet saddle instead of the black. Rode it on thanksgiving after eating, and it is a great frame for a heavy guy. Realy short top tube, but it handles very well. This will be ridden with groups on all but the fastest rides. Seems very comfortable, if I could pound out thirty miles with nine pieces of pie on top of a huge dinner sloshing in the gut on this thing, then I look forward to trying a few centurys.
I used all parts from my pile, so I am out only the 160 for the frame and shipping, but will get a better chain, the hoods, and might look into some panaracers in 1 1/8. The rear derailer is a shimano light action, will be shopping for something better I think. The leather bar wrap was just some scrap I had. Unfortunatly I found some leather in a burgandy that would match the frame really well the next day, but it will have to wait. It feels great by the way, I see it in the future for all my bikes.
Here is the thread that led me to by this frame. I seriously might order another. https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...nturion-frames

Very nice. What model is your frame? This is like a '75-ish vintage, right?

I am going to look like a huge jerk here, but one of my pet peeves is misspelling a bike's name when the name itself is in the pictures of the bike.
Sorry shipwreck, I really do love the bike and the pictures! What bars are those? I love bars with a shallow drop and long sweep.
EDIT: Nevermind, I only breezed over the headshot of the bars. Clearly, either a sakae or nitto rando.

All you need to do is click the Black Triangle and report a title typo.

The first scratch is going to be really hard to take. I actualy got two compliments on it. But then, most folks are used to seeing me on something that came out of a dumpster and or has that eightys paint.
As to the spelling, that was a bad mistake and I am ashamed, but hey, I was a liberal arts major for a reason. I will be more carefull in the future, thanks for telling me.

It is a plain gauge lower middle offering, I got it because some here were saying that it would be a good frame for a heavy rider, and at 220 pounds that sounded good to me. The seller says its a 1981.

I actualy have no idea what bars they are. They have the most pronounced curves I have ever seen, very comfortable. They are older than the bike, and when I can swing it I should get some Nitto bars. They may be the weakest link, but they have been laying about for a long time, had to try them. When I found them they were on a spearpoint GB Hiduminium stem. So they might be pretty old.

PS that bike calls for shiny dimpled fenders.

Really wanted a vintage looking rig as light as I could get it. I tend to start putting racks and fenders on everything to improve usefullness, like bringing home some grocerys after a ride, no stripe up the back. Then I need to start another rig without all that. Its a cycle.

Exactly the same as my poor old Centurion, even to the bars (I am willing to bet money those are GBs) and the bar-end shifters), except yours has forged dropouts. I really miss that bike. And I've been told Citizen Chain has boxes of these things?
