What a great thread! For all of you Mozart "Magic Flute" opera fans, here is our current cat, "The Queen of the Night." We rescued her two years ago, at age 5 or 6, after her owner had died, and the family was desperately looking for a home for her. She was very skittish for a long time, taking "feline neurosis" to a new high, but she gradually warmed up to my wife and then to me.

Fostering another kitten.
The pictures don't do her justice. She will be a beautiful black/brown, or black/yellow tabby.
Man that thing can EAT!!! But, she is also growing bigger by the day.
Latte isn't a big fan of kittens. The sooner we get rid of this one the better. It eats her food, drinks her water, uses her litter box, and worst of all, sleeps on MY lap.
Fortunately, there is a lot of demand for kittens on Craigslist. A LOT!!!
I think the mother is a Tortie, but so far every kitten I've seen has been a Tabby of one form or another.

Wonderful… so Brisbane is in a 3-day lock-down due to a COVID-19 case (the "new and improved" B117 variant), so I'm cooking at home instead of getting take away.
Last night was a vegetarian meal because the meat was still defrosting… tonight I cooked a steak…
… big mistake!

Well, yes of course! Scooter (conveniently) has white whiskers while his brother who is a more enthusiastic eater has a couple of pounds on him.
And then there is Cleopatra.
And then there is Cleopatra.
