**Most Violent Thing You Have Done**
What is the most violent thing you have ever done, regretting or not regretting, while on the road or off the road? I would also consider things like raising your voice, screaming to still be grouped with this, since the level of violence may vary, comparatively speaking this may still be considered violent. (i.e. if the most violent was shoving, screaming would still be considered quite violent. Or if the extreme were violent beating, screaming is comparatively not violent).
Screaming at someone? Yelling? Punching? Drawing a lethal weapon but not using (carry)? Raising a lock up? A knife?

Beat the crap out of people on several different occasions when they were dumb enough to get out of their cars and come after me.
Shattered one windshield (when you're surrounded by multiple assailants that piled out of one vehicle... go after the vehicle.... especially if the driver is driving daddy's truck)
Oh... and a note to the overweight guy that left his car in the intersection to come after me: The skinny cyclist riding his bike through a snow storm just MIGHT be in better shape than you.

I studied karate for many years as a teenager and never put it to use until I was about 25 years old and some drunk in Newport RI ran my girlfriend off the road on her bike. I chased the guy down who jumped out of his car and came at me. With me still straddling the top tube of my bike I blocked every one of about 10 punches the guy threw at me but couldn't bring myself to strike him back. Eventually I grabbed his wrists and held them till he calmed the f... down. Fortunately, a cop came by and took the guy in for being drunk and disorderly.
That is the full extent of my violent past and I have no desire for more violent interactions.

Let's see...
Here in Japan:
I slapped the trunk of the taxi that buzzed me, cut me off, and then slowed down right in front of me.
I've gobbed a few cars that behaved dangerously/illegally towards me.
The one time I really, really wanted to punch somebody was when a van driver broadsided me and knocked me down. He got out and stood beside me while I spent about 3 minutes carefully examining the damage to my bike, which I did to distract myself from an intense desire to smash him to a pulp. I was amazed at my own anger-management and self-control.
In the US:
Once, a long time ago, while a Pittsburgh police officer was straddling my front wheel while holding onto my handlebar and shaking my bike and spitting threats in my face, I briefly considered reaching down and un-clipping my Kryptonite U-lock and roundhousing him with it... but a sudden vision of being stomped into the asphalt by 10 or 12 cops made me reconsider.
Guess I'm not as violently-inclined as my fantasies would have me believe.

I used to do a lot of stuff thats already been mentioned, I kicked a ladys car once...really hard! put a nice dent in it, she ran me off the bike lane while talking on the phone, when I caught up with her I kicked the crap out of her door and she rolled down the window and waved down a cop that was standing on the corner, but the cop saw what she did to me and told me to leave (while writing her a ticket!) but I just recently realized (with the help of forum members) that its just not worth it to put myself in that position now I just take it and ride off

Well, I guess I have to confess to some of the above.
I prefer, however, to think of it as "performance art." Just my contribution to the ongoing street scene. . .

I shot a man in Reno just to watch him die...
Other than that I've slapped a couple cars on the trunk and once lobbed a nice loogie into the bed of a pickup that almost ran me off the road. The pickup bed was full of tools and the guy saw what I did (I did it when I caught up to him at a stoplight). By that point there wasn't much he could do since he was stuck in traffic and I was merrily riding on my way...

A guy tried to cut me off in milwaukee because apparently he thought I didn't deserve my 3 ft away from parked cars. so when he sped past me and then pulled across the entire lane at the next intersection stopped and showed me his IQ on his middle finger, I swerved around behind him and kicked out his tail-light. That felt good.
next on the list was here in baltimore. As I approached an intersection with a red light and cars 12 deep stopped, the lady behind me (in a very narrow lane) honked and honked. Now where the bleep does she think she's going? So I stopped my bike, got off went to her car door and started kicking it . I yelled at her to "shut her horn hole. Where the" bleep "did she think she was going with all these stopped cars?". She looked very scared. At least she stopped honkin. Then I got back on my bike, waited for the light to change from red to green then back to green, then carried my bike kiddie corner across the intersection and turned left like I needed to anyway. I felt bad for the cars behind her, but not for her.

I used to be a lot less calm about idiot cagers... and I have probably put myself in more danger than necessary.
Example:
I was riding a deserted 4 lane divided road... not another soul on the road. My mirror showed me a Corvette roaring up behind me, and the guy buzzed me within a couple of feet of my elbow despite having two empty lanes to give me some room.
I caught the guy at the next light, and while he smirked at me from behind the wheel... I calmly spit in the palm of my glove and carefully placed that hand on his hood to balance myself.
It didn't take me long to realize that I was pissing on a guy who had already proved that he didn't mind using his four-wheeled missile to intimidate. He may just use it to hurt me if he got the chance...
Nowadays I just smile and wave at the jerks even though I'm roiling inside. They're not worth it.

Shouting matches, one guy got out of his car but didn't try to fight me, he just wanted to yell some more... so I called the cops and he got chewed out really good ...
Another guy who got out of his car stopped in front of me and blocked traffic as I gave him the finger while laughing and went around his car without even slowing down ...
A few shouting matches got me inspired so I took pics ( see commuting thread where I caught the cager and took pics) .. good times.
Ohh, and of no consequence - I did not know how easily side mirrors come off ... when they are slapped at 25 mph ...

Hmmm...aside from a few vulgarities....
The most 'violent', if you want to call it that , was one summer day when I was riding home on my commute. I had stopped at 7-11 to get a slurpee. I was riding home, when a car proceeded to pull up beside me on my left and do a right turn right in front of me. I needed both hands on the bar to keep from crashing into him, so I proceeded to launch my slurpee onto his car. Man was he pissed.
Served him right.

I was living in Iowa City early 90's. I was on a small bridge, on the sidewalk facing oncoming traffic ( I don't recall why). It was raining like crazy so there was a veritable river running along the sidewalk. I'm just sitting there straddling my bike, I look up ahead, a guy in a sports car sees me, peels out toward me and gets close enough to me to absolutely SOAK me. I lose it. I was riding an old Performance Aspen with a wire basket in the back where I kept my U-lock. I take off, in the pouring rain, reach back for the u-lock, get close as I could to the guy and HEAVE that lock. It bounces off his trunk, but he keeps going. Then I sort of gather myself and realize I'm at a busy 4 way stop in d/t Iowa City...in the pouring rain....with cars everywhere. I reach down, grab that lock, and hi-tail it home. I still can't believe I did that, but I was as pissed as I was soaked!

Most I've done was tap a pickup that had it's wheels inside my lane (bike lane) and point at the line behind me as I passed. I had a perfect opportunity to boot a cars bumper but that was in the days when I was still clipped in and it took me that extra 1/2 second... and sadly I didn't kick. This was a car that made a right in front of me and then stopped with its rear end covering the entire bike lane

I've been riding bikes and motorcycles for 30+ years. Back in the day, my friends and I have removed mirrors, broken various glass objects, and gotten into a couple of fist fights. The two funniest were when some drunk moron tried to fight my buddy "wideturn". He's 6'7" and simply put his hand on the top of the guys head while he was futilely swinging away... just like in the Three Stooges. The other was the time some rednecks yelled then tried to run me off the road. I caught them at a redlight and simply went berserk. I mean foaming at mouth screaming things that didn't make any sense kind of berserk. When I picked up my bike and tried to shove it through the open passenger window to smack the passenger with it, that was enough for them. I think I scared the crap out of them.
These days, I ignore them. As I was filtering through traffic the other day, some self righteous nitwit decided I shouldn't be able to pass on the right and should wait in line like all the other idiots and pulled all the way over to the curb as I approached. I simply slowed, hopped the curb, and dropped back in the road in front of him and kept going. The more I think about it, I'm sure that pissed him off more than anything else I could have done. I was free, he was not. Must suck to be him.
I will report commercial vehicles that have phone numbers on the back of them. I mean, how stupid do you have to be to engage in that sort of behaviour with the friggin' phone number of your company on the back of the truck? And this happens more often than you would think. I think it's because our state is ranked 49th in education for the country. More morons per square foot.
I also like the suggestion that when you catch the car, just lightly touch the hood as you pass it. Nothing more. Someone here on BF suggested it, and it seems like that would be very satisfying without being destructive or escalating.

Damn it, I was going to use that line. I'm supposed to be the only one who would think of that.
Nothing really...I'm a relatively new commuter (about 4 months), and I really haven't had any bad calls yet. About the only thing I can even think of just happened last week when a bimbo on a cell phone was cutting me off from moving over a lane because she was paying more attention to her phone than her driving. I yelled "dumbass", but I don't think she could even hear me with the windows up and the phone jammed in one ear.

I've yelled my fair share of sailor-level wording, and I've tapped/rapped my knuckles on doors/trunks if people have come or get too close to me. I've not had any confrontations above that.. I'm a pretty mellow guy anyway.
