The Sram Dual Drive II has something called a trigger shift. Looks like a lever version of the grip shifter. I haven't looked too closely because I don't want to be upset I don't have it.

Considering the red saddlebag, and the red Raleigh headbadge, I decided to use it on the Dumpster Queen.

Uhhh...Shimano has had a trigger shifter for their IGH for a couple years. I have the Alfine shifter with my Nexus-equipped Commuter 3.0. (Just got it Saturday but it's a 2007).

Nobody makes a bar-end or brifter. My point is that flatbars and risers are covered, now they need something for drops.

So far the suicide shift is working out well. Makes me shift a little less (which I like). I also like that I can remove two screws at the bottle holder and switch right back to SS or fixed come summer.

Man, I love this bike! I also rescued a Raleigh Marathon (same color and everything). It is now happily employed as a fixed gear for my buddy's commute from Bountiful to Salt Lake. Isn't it amazing how a new saddle and aero shifters clean up that old frame?!

After basic cleanup (different saddle but still older style):

After new saddle and aero brake levers (still have stem shifters):

Nice! As far as angles go, I'm pretty tall and find them unnecessary. I'm playing down on everything, so there's no chance of damage (like when you see sky high flat cymbals ala Travis barker). When I have the 2 rack toms up they get angled, given the 24" kick.

Photos of "New to Me" Brodie Ocho Commuter
I found a lightly used Brodie Ocho about a month ago. I've added:
- Planet Bike Cascadia Fenders
- Axion Disc Brake Rack
- Mirrcycle Mirror
- Velovision grips
- Bar-end bell
- Mounts for Dinotte 800L & PB Superflash
Before I start commuting on it and get it covered in dirt, here are a few photos and a link to my Ocho gallery:

Here it is: pretty much stock aside from removing the spoke reflectors and the flying saucer from the back behind the cassette. Oh ya, also had the shop swap the knobbies for 25mm gator skins.
I think the next thing I buy will be shoes and clipless pedals and also need a bad or messenger bag to commute with. Also bought a Giro Xen, pump, and patch kit. So broke now.
