For pictures of the Pacific Northwest I suggested a thread "The Beautiful PNW Photo thread".
Maybe we should start a "My Beautiful Commute Photo Thread" for the commuters. Maybe "Perchik" could start it with his pictures.

Nice ride. that bike is exactly what I am looking for. flat bars, steel frame, no front derailer. it has a classic/clean look to it. Nobody sells bikes like this new it seems and i dont understand why. you can get a single speed but you cant get one with gears in back.

You mean like this? I picked this up at a rummage sale and fixed it up and hope to find a happy owner. It's old but light and spritely.

here she is! 1965 Huffy Moulton 4 Speed!

here she is with a couple of added things:
Marathon Plus tires
Fizik Aliante saddle
1965 Ring Ring english bell
waiting for:
2 rigida rims
spokes
dynohub
install B&M Lights
i enjoyed the pics theperchik! we should totally add a sticky for photos of commute, but with some limitations on quantity per post, only highlights or special photos.

Some that are somewhat close:
Raleigh Roadster - hybrid/comfort
Electra Ticino 8D - hybrid/comfort
Swobo Novak - 3-speed internally geared hub
Swobo Dixon - 9-speed internally geared hub, MTB-ish

This is a 1991 Bridgestone MB-3 MTB converted for road use with 26 X 1.25 Panaracer Pasela TG tires, a Sugino Mighty Comp double crankset with 42-53 Stronglight 107 chainrings, ESGE (SKS) fenders, Cateye halogen headlight and Trek flashing LED taillight. The only others mods I made were to shorten the bars 1.5" overall, install left/right ergo grips and upgrade the front brakes to Deore XT. The pedals are Shimano PD-M737, which are early vintage SPD MTB style double-sided clipless. I use this bike for all weather day and night urban riding and day touring. Although I don't use it for commuting (I'm retired), I do think it would make an excellent commuter bike. It weighs about 26 lbs as shown in the photo. The casette is a 12-28 7-speed, which gives me a 39 to 115 gear range based on a 26" tire size.

Cool! Here's mine, I love the style of the frames.
I have since taken the red bag off, I didn't use it and didn't care for it much.

It's not sexy, but I did just get it roadworthy again, after sitting in the garage for many years. Not your typical commuter bike, but it's all I've got to work with at the moment. The bike is pretty much stock, except for some small accessory additions. I did change out the stock off-road tires for a set of Kenda K-Rads, which have greatly increased the ease of on-road pedaling. Fenders, a chain disk, and a better bike rack will come soon.
At least I don't have to worry about somebody stealing it.

PS - My god. After viewing this post, I'm amazed at how funky looking the frame is. It looks like some sort of two-wheeled pogo stick.

OK, someone please explain to me the advantage of two top tubes. Thanks.

Heh. An office turned into a bike shop.
That bike stand is the exact model I have. I don't think they make one exactly like that any more. I'm thinking of getting sandbags or something to make it more stable. Any luck with that?

Sixty Fiver, that forcibly reminds me of how my LBS looked 2 years ago, when i had just started working for them and they were only a year or so old.
Is that home or work? either way (and without getting too sappy), it looks wonderful.

Their is also abundant office space (I was standing in it to take the last picture).
It has been a busy week so the place is a bit of a mess.

I am planning on building a hoist to bring bikes up from the floor to working height (another diy project) as I sometimes have trouble lifting them or holding them when I am clamping them in place.
The desk works well as a wheel building station... the drawers are full of tools and parts.
