P-clamps can be found at https://www.velo-orange.com/pforfeat.html for sure and in other places that do not currently come to mind.

Good luck,

3.0 frames the problem is less the upper mount and more the lower mount. They have a cantilever drop out. There is nothing to bolt to on the rear. You have to mount the rack off the Skewer.

I've been thinking about doing a 1x8 setup on an older Trek. How hard is it keeping the chain on through the full range of gears? Do you have anything installed that helps it stay on?
thanks, i'll post better pics when i get it where i want it.
im using the 52t chainring in the standard outer position for a double and havent dropped a chain yet. my derailleur has good tension so im going to assume a tight der + a big chainring is helping in chain retention.

i was commuting on my 91 SR600 but it was too nice and i wrecked the original wheels on the bad roads i travel on. here is a pic:

I used to train on a black 3.0 with campy record. Great bike for criterium-style riding. Ridiculously stiff, great acceleration, wicked handling.............. brutal on long rides.

Bikes: I hate bikes!

I re-geared my Paramount (from a triple to a double) and added a large Sackville saddle bag from Rivendell. Liking the changes......

I used to live in your neighborhood and I loved it's diversity. Fort Tryon Park was one of my favorite spots in the city. I called the neighborhood rural Manhattan because I had to walk more than a block for either a Duane Reade or Starbucks. Oh those were the days...

Nice older French steel. Nice conversion!

BTW - how deep in the head tube is the stem. Looks dangerously shallow, based on how much is exposed

You might want to check your chain length...

I could pull out another 30cm before I hit the minimum insertion line. This stem is crazy long. It's a Nitto Technomic.

Thanks. Yeah the chain looks a bit short. Problem I am having is getting the RD to wrap enough chain when in the small chainring. Current gearing is 46/30 front 13-32 rear 7 speed freewheel.

Wow, that Ross is a beauty! I made the mistake of passing one of those up at the flea market last year, still kicking myself...

Bikes: 1990 Trek 1420 - 1978 Raleigh Professional - 1973 Schwinn Collegiate - 1974 Schwinn Suburban

I just recently finished my new commuter, it replaces a 52lb Schwinn collegiate. The only original parts on it are the front derailleur, cable clips, headset and bottom bracket. Most of the other parts I had lying around so this was a very inexpensive build. It's a lot of fun to ride, I particularly like the bar end shifters. It gets daily use riding to work, on top of that I have not driven my car once this past week. I would like to add some lights to it in the near future. Nothing on it is very fancy.... except the one Campagnolo nuovo record skewer on it

Very nice job on this before/after. Lovely Lotus, and the contrast is strong. It's just the sort of before/after post I love! Great work!

Nice bike but change this chain ASAP! If the chain is too short, it will be at risk for jamming and possibly ruining the rear derailer if you accidentally shift into the large-large combination. Never run with a chain that is too short, except in an emergency.
