Commuter Bicycle Pics
#6027
This was my commuter for last two years. It had a Shimano 4-speed IGH originally. It was rebuilt for singlespeed after the IGH failed. I also decided I want panniers and more gears so I decided to part with it. If anyone is interested look in the For Sale forum. The pictures of my current commuter are coming too a bit later.

2008 Lemond Poprad with Axiom fenders - awaiting the Tubus Logo rack.
It was stripped of the fenders and used for cyclocross racing last fall.
Now thru september all the accessories goes back on as a dedicated commuter and errand runner.
Would love to try grocery shopping with it. But with 4 hungry mouths to feed I may need a trailer.

My 2010 DBR Podium 1 roadbike. Rides good and true.
Pix taken with phone camera during last weekend ride around the countryside near my home. Missing in the pix are the standard commuting battlegear. So no Blackburn rear rack, DIY panniers and lights for weekend rides.

Put it at the side of the road for pix.

thanks for looking.

My fender set up usually looks like this... my rear fender got broken while my bike was on loan so I need to replace that although the rack does a good job of keeping the spray off my backside.

Here is an update on mine. Nokian 35c studded tires rubbing everywhere and installed the original drops. Used Shimano 600? brake levers. Its still fixed but with brakes and no foot retention.

here's a pic of my commuter/road bike.
2002 or 2003 Atherton road bike
- FSA/Shimano 105/Ultegra/DuraAce component mix-n-match.
- NiteRider MiNewt headlight
- Planet Bike superflash
- Cateye Strada double wireless
- Blackburn carbon bottle cages

and my bike w/ my co-worker/riding buddy's bike

it's 12 miles to work and 16 miles home.

Bikes: surly cross check
Very Nice, I have been contemplating the switch to wider fenders on my cross check, what with all the snow that gets packed in there while commuting. Any issues with clearance on those 48's?

My only gripe is that there's no L-bracket included with the kit. I used the "crown daruma" install method, described on VO website, to mount the front fender. This put the fender a little higher than I would like. Because of this, the tail end of the fender is further back; this creates a bit of toe overlap, which I've never had before. Next week, I'm going to make the fender hug the tire more. Hopefully this eliminates the toe overlap.
