Here is my recently made road-worthy 1997 Raleigh M50. A few lights and fenders and it is on it's way to being a full fledged commuter. I do commute on it now anyway since I wanted to save some wear and tear on my LeMond.
I picked it up off of ebay for $37. I think I did pretty good, but it does give me quite a workout (and I love it)
Cheers,
Brian

Here's my everything bike -- commuter, weekend rides, whatever. I built it pretty econo: Used a Scattante frame from SuperGo, installed a new Simano bottom bracket and crank (Ultegra items that were being phased out), and all the Shimano components from my GT road bike (from back when GT was still an indie company). I typically commute four days a week on it and it's my trusty pal. We treat each other right.

Bikes: highly modified specialized crossroads and GT hybrid (really a [formerly] 12-speed bmx cruiser, made before 'hybrid' took on its current meaning), as yet unmodified redline 925, couple of other projects

Billy Boy, border collie #3 is standing guard.
2 -50# dog food.
DIY trailer bed for this task is a plastic snow sled tied to the cargo frame with 4 toe clips straps.
Other pics of my trailers were posted on Page 32 Message #797.
Much obliged.

Here's my all-weather commuter, a re-built Giant Farrago. All new parts except for the handlebars (I'll change those in the spring). Geek like on the front; strobe light on the back. Studded nokians for winter riding. Bolted panniers.

In times when everything is quickly outdated and disposable I love this lasting and enduring piece of machinery.

The rain bike...of course now that I have ridden it in all week, it has only sprinkled once on the way in. Loving the Armadillo Nimbus tires on it though. They are a big improvement over the brick-like version and were plenty steady in the wet.
