Thanks! It's a 2010 frame that was available at the time with drop bars and discs. They have a split drive-side dropout for a belt so you see a lot of them setup that way, but they also came with a Tiagra drivetrain option. I got this one in trade as a frameset and it's been through a few iterations, with that pic being what it is now (except for the crankset, which is now 6800).

It was designed for 700c wheels but I went with 650b instead. The current build is:

King headset
Shimano Pro Vibe stem, bars, & seatpost
6800 crankset/bottom bracket
6700 rear derailleur
6700 front derailleur
5700 shifters
Tiagra 12-30 cassette and 4601 chain
TRP Spyre brakes
WTB i23 650b rims to XT hubs
650bx42 Compass Babyshoe Pass tires
Adamo Road saddle

my commute is about 10 miles so I only use a backpack. I have an orange sealine urban rolltop bag that I've been using for almost 4 years now- great bag.

Bikes: '16 Giant Escape 3 (fair weather ride), Giant Quasar (work in progress), 2002 saturn vue (crap weather ride)

My new commuter is a 2016 Giant Escape 3 (I have dubbed it s-copy, as in a funky pronunciation of escape. I'm not that imaginative with names.). So far it's everything I wanted out of a commuter. I got it because the shop I took my huffy to told me the BB & front hub needed over hauled, along with a few other minor things (it was about $70 less to have my huffy professionally overhauled). So far it's completely stock, with the exception of the water bottle holder. Oh, and a vittoria randonneur on the rear.

Nice job, too bad they don't make that model any more

The top one is my usual commuter bike - it's a 48cm 2001 Univega Modo Volare, rides very smooth, but sometimes struggles with the terrible roads of Pittsburgh (see: cobblestone streets). It's been through a lot.
The bottom one is my winter bike (treaded tires for snow and stuff), although I haven't used it as much this winter! It's just a basic vintage Schwinn, although it rides pretty nicely and the wide cruiser saddle feels like I'm sitting in a cloud.

I de-racked the faster cx commuter a month or so ago... Still unsure if worth it... haha. I started doing more bumpy, rough roads and single track for recreation and ditched it. I keep a full change of clothes at work, so really don't need to carry much more than lunch on those days. But sometimes wish I could pick up something a bit easier on the way home.

Mah wheelz (mirrors have since been removed, unfortunately). People often refered to it as the "Suzuki Carry", a type of small Japanese Kei (a classification based on size) truck. I just call it my faithful 1986 Hyundai Stellar:

Bikes: Trek 520 Grando, Roubaix Expert, Motobecane Ti Century Elite turned commuter, Some old French thing gone fixie

Gitane tempory commuter bike
by curtis corlew, on Flickr

I'm sure that I've just ended the rain and any chance of the California drought ending. I bought SKS Raceblade fenders for my early 70s Gitane Tour de France turned fixed-s/s. I've set it up with lights, my Rideye and Fly6 cameras and such until my new commuter arrives sometime in February.

Today was my first bike commute (though not first ride) since my encounter with a truck. It's so wonderful to be back on the bike.

Those small stickers say "I Voted" and "Ya Voté." I sure with I could get them in other languages too.

Anyway, I am now rain ready!

Just picked her up! Hoping I can squeeze some mudguards under the brakes (it's missing a pad on the front), and I just want to put a rack on it and then some personal stuff (clean, change out the bar tape, different tires, and a new saddle). I believe it is a '92, Miyata 721

Funnily enough, this isn't a rare pronunciation. We get a lot of people unfamiliar with the brand in our shop who try to give very french or italian pronunciations when they see the model names. We even get people asking about our "Gee-Aunt" brand bikes a couple times a year.

Bikes: Yes

I've got two, and there's no particular priority in which I ride them (primary/backup):

1977 Schwinn LeTour II, 2x1 drivetrain (The FD works, the RD is just a tensioner for a 16T freewheel).

1992 Trek 8000 MTB. 1x7 drivetrain, SRAM twist-grip shifter controlling a Shimano RD (hasn't blown up yet!).

This is my new bike. I finished building it last night. It is pictured with studded ice tires. I rode it for a quarter mile last night on those tires. They are very loud. This morning, I changed the tires and rode 14 miles to work. It's a blast! The frameset is a 1974 Raleigh International. The bike with the studded tires weighed a mere 26 pounds. It's probably below 25 pounds now.

Looks pretty sweet! Studded tires look narrower than I would have expected. Seat looks a little too upwards to me, is it nosing your nethers? I think fluted seatposts are cool, and that crankset is pretty too with the fluted arms and crowned outer ring.

Believe it or not, I'm going to tip the saddle up even more. It's probably too narrow for upright handlebars, but I'll try that before swapping it. This morning, there was too much pressure on my sit bones and hardly any on my pubic bone.

The tires are 35mm wide. The crankset is Campagnolo Super Record from the early 80s.

SICK tires... I need a set of those! Was considering getting some RevoLights for side visibility but couldn't stomach the price. Very nice find!

I got them on sale on biketiresdirect.com. Crazy good value. Couple of friends locally have switched to them, too.
