Here is my Bianchi Boardwalk. Dressed with a black rear rack, black bottle cage, and a Specialized cyclo-computer. More things to come probably next weekend including a trunk bag and some panniers.

Look great Tranz!
|
Thank you. Sorry for the horrible quality pics, the sidekick cam is only a measly 1.3 megapixel.
|
I would see about putting some reflectors on the wheels though. Someone might hit you and mess up your bike!
|
Im planning on getting a full light setup with a front and rear light.
|
Heres is another pic of my ever evolving bike. I installed some slicks and some "dorkbars" on it. I just have some regular grips on there for now. I am still experimenting with setups on the bars. I am thinking that maybe I can flip them around and put the breaks and shifters on the sides kinda like a old 3-speed. That how I noticed I ride on the bars so far on the 15 miles I have put on them. Then I can tape em up! The bike would probably look a little nicer if it wasn't for the milk crate, but I dont think I can ride without it now. Plus it helps theft proof it.

Awesome bike there man. I dig those bars, looks like you can get a lot of differnet hand positions with them.
|
thanks, yea I noticed about 5 differnent comfortable positions on them on my little testdrive. I dont know how many of them I will still use once I get "broken in" to them. They were definatly worth the $15 eitherway. I am thinking about putting my cheap Nashbar panniers on the bike for a while to improve the looks. But I dont think I can carry as much groceries in the panniers. I also carry a backpack and small cooler alot and I am a little lazy when it comes to straping things down. With the crate I just throw the stuff in and go.
Make sure to get an updated pic when/ if you decide to get some panniers and trunk for your bike! |
Will do. Right now I am just looking for some good panniers to get. My LBS has a good trunk bag that I will pickup along with some lights, but panniers is a toughie.
|
I bought some cheap ($25?) Nashbar panniers for one of my other bikes. I dont see it on Nashbars website right now, but you can see my picture of it in post #1803.
They are kinda small. They are good for little things though and hold probably more than a backpack. They are not the best in the world, but are good enough to convince me that maybe one day I might wanna get a good set of panneirs. I just didnt wanna spend $100 or whatever on a good set (fer a $60 bike) and decide I didnt like them. |

My updated Crosscheck. I didn't like the Planet Bike Hardcore fenders (rattled around a lot) so I switched to SKS ones, they stay on rock solid. Changed saddle from B17N to B17 Champion Special Ti version. Shellaced the bars. Changed from 7 speed bar-cons to 10 speed. Switched rear derailer to 9 speed 105. Next up, Nitto Noodle bar and Tektro R100A levers (my hands are too small for the current 105 levers).

My ugly FrankenFisher. I tried 42t in the front, but it was far too tall for hilly Fayetteville, AR. 32t works out swimmingly. I'm also kind of a re-beginning rider, so I'm being gentle on my old knees at first.
I plan to redo this with a 36t in front and an 8 speed 11-30 come summer. http://img501.imageshack.us/img501/7357/fisherrv0.jpg Gary Fisher Marlin frame (98 or 99) Manitou Sixsport, soon to be replaced with original solid fork 11-28 7-speed in the back, Deore derailer 32t single chainring in front on 175mm Specialized cranks Deore 7-speed shifter/rear brake Rush BMX front brake lever nashbar 1.5 semislicks @ 60psi and of course nashbar racks front and back (rear rack is a front, using a 'rear rack' mounting kit) Yes, that is spraypaint that it got hit with. It's part of Operation Ugly, Non-Thievable Ride. |
For some reason after looking at all the bikes in this thread, I am starting to dislike my bike :(. When I look at the pics, it looks more of a toy/BMX bike then a good commuting bike.
|
Yea, I think so too. Wanna trade?
I think it looks like a great bike. The more miles you ride it, the more you wouldnt wanna trade it for any other bike. |
I just dont really like the look of the frame. I like the touring bike look I guess.

Here are my beater commuters.
My main utilitarian, '72 Schwinn Continental. It also has a rear rack not shown. Heavy. http://www.gkinnamon.com/images/Schwinn_conti3_650.jpg http://www.gkinnamon.com/images/Schwinn_conti1_600.jpg My fair weather bike, for when I do not have to carry much. I have been using this more lately, quicker and less of a workout. '74 Raleigh Grand Prix. http://www.gkinnamon.com/images/Raleigh_GP1_675.jpg http://www.gkinnamon.com/images/Raleigh_GP2_600.jpg |
