Cold, cold cold. I saw a few snowflakes in my helmet light beam, it may have been [strike]existing[/strike] already fallen snow blowing around.

a really nice ride home. cold but no face mask needed just a small wool cap under the helmet. roads were mostly clear with some issues involving ice and snow - still no studs required I think ...

Low 40s, dark, and drizzly. Physically I felt amazing, like I could ride forever, and fast. Love that.

Hit a new low on the bike today... -19F. My goggles were fogged up on one side because the balaklava was blocking the vent. There was snow and ice for my studs to chew on, too.

Ran a bunch of errands on the way home and then picked up the girls from the bus stop... and my youngest loves being able to get a ride home on the back of the long bike... it it helped with traction too.

Icy, icy, icy. Thought most of it would be gone, but I was certainly mistaken there. Made it in one piece, but not without a few pucker moments. Other than that would have been a nice ride.

Easy ride in at 22F ( -5 C). Still trying to adjust to the foggy riding glasses, due to the heavier hood. Dressing for the 20s F ( minus single digits C) is difficult. It is easy to get fooled into dressing too warmly, becaues 5 degrees in any direction is a big difference.

In the 50's this morning, warmer than I expected. The roads were wet from the overnight rain. I added my new fenders this weekend, now I can splash through the puddles without worry! I can't wait til the colder temps come..

Today must have been "Leave Early for Work Day" in my city. I left at my usual time, 6:30 am, and there is generally very little traffic. Today there were cars everywhere. Leaving my neighborhood, at had to wait at a stop sign several minutes for the traffic to clear, while I normally do a rolling stop. It was like that all the way to work, and I caught every red light on top of that. Then some bozo in an SUV laid on his horn while driving behind me on a 4-lane road, even though I riding in the correct position (about 3' left of the curb), the other lane was clear and he had tons of room to pass. I was tempted to shoot a bird, but just ignored him. Hopefully the rest of my day will go better.

I put the W106's on last night. (Studded tires) A wise decision, as the there were plenty of questionable patches under a thin layer of snow.
Temps in the upper 20s with a light quartering tailwind. Overcast & dark enough that I was using my headlight and blinkies for the street portions of my commute.
When I was changing my rear tire last night. I noticed my derailleur cable was badly frayed under the the derailleur itself, making it hard to notice unless I looked at it from the proper angle.
I'm thankful it didn't snap on me en route, especially in the snow. I left it shifted to a middle gear, duct-taped the shifter as a reminder to not touch it, and will get it replaced later today. In my outer ring I could ride at a decent cadence around 15MPH, so it wasn't too bad. The hill climb near my office was harder than normal.

I highly recommend studded tires if you can find a pair that will fit your bike. No more worries about icy roads or the dreaded "BLACK ICE", (sounds like a good title for a scarry movie).

More ice and snow. I think it's time to swap in the knobbies on my folding bike.

Had a nice commute. Since i started commuting a few weeks ago this has been the coldest I have gone. Definately a bit slower and a much longer warmup.
Took 1st ave. all the way north today, 5 lanes of one way traffic. But wasn't that bad. Much better than the horrible path along the east river.

Wasn't sold on bicycling idea 100% this AM. Something maybe in my head or in my legs was saying don't do it. Maybe it was the broken spoke I repaired last night (indicating I probably have to get the wheel rebuilt or rebuild it myself.) Rode anyway, just because there's a storm coming tomorrow which will force me to drive. A 12 MPH wind out of the north that wasn't forecast to be there had me moving slower than normal, or so it felt. Ran an errand before work, so the 7.5 miles took me about 40 minutes. It was chilly but better than driving.
Hopefully that headwind will stay strong through the evening and I'll fly home!

Upper 30's, fog, turning to rain. Light, chilly headwind that's supposed shift and become another, stronger headwind for the trip home - gusts to 30mph...
Somebody honked at me as they passed, then a window rolled down and they waved, so I possibly know them. Made me glad I didn't give in to my 1st tendency to react negatively.

6F, sunny. Impressed my 8 yr old toughed it out. Of course his commute is a lot shorter than mine. I didn't really have it in me to race up the last block uphill in to the office, merge across 2 lanes of 40-50mph traffic into the turn lane and wait to cross the last 2 lanes to the parking lot, so I just crossed at the previous crosswalk and went up the sidewalk.

Big storm last night in Phoenix, and I knew it would impact the commute. Path blocked by crews in three places. Two I was able to "evade". I had to take the detour onto the busy streets for the third. As usual anytime there is the least amount of inclement weather, everyone was surprised to see I rode.

Cool and bright this morning, with plenty of frosty views in the sunshine. Nice.

Snowy. Mid-20sF. Headwind. Not bad though. 2 pedestrians stared at me and said things I couldn't hear as I passed.
People really have no idea how easy it is to ride in/on snow.

Wet and windy - the gutters were little rivers of dirty water, I got splashed, and my foxwear light-rain rainwear was very comfortable, but now I need to air-dry a bit.

Lousy morning in NYC, not entirely miserable but lousy: low 40s and rain with some gusts of wind - probably the same as in NJ. Since I still don't have my waterproof socks and gloves I had no choice but to let my feet and hands get wet, if it was any colder I would be miserable
I saw very few cyclists, it was probably the worst morning so far. I just wore one of those bright yellow utility waterproof jackets, thin wool sweater and my Amfib tights. People at work are now convinced that I'm crazy
But they're all wet and I just changed into dry clothes, LOL. My new Axiom Monsoon panniers passed the test too: not a drop of water inside. I'm probably looking at wet commute back home as well.
