ride in this morning was great weather wise, mid 40s and no wind. my legs were dead though, decided to stay extend the bus portion of the commute and take off about 5 miles worth of hilly riding. it's nice to have options i suppose. should be a nice enough ride home, they're calling for rain later this afternoon and i hope it holds off until i can get where i'm going. either way, i'll be happy i'm sure. traditionally friday afternoons sitting on WA 520 are the pits.

Aargh! My innertube popped, sounding like a gunshot. I was 2/3 of the way through my trip. Luckily I was within walking distance of my employer's shuttle bus stop. I'll change the tire at some point tonight.

We have a large BikeExpo going on today and tomorrow so I took the day off and biked down there and helped them set up. I managed to get a little over 31miles in round trip. Great weather too, not to mention a tail wind on the way home... Woo woo

My first rainy day of the season. On the ride in, I was staying dry until near the end on the Cherry Creek Trail near downtown. The creek was flooding the trail and I decided to plow through. Bad idea. It got to about 10 inches deep, running pretty strong against me. I struggled toward the end and my chain came off. Had to walk the rest.

Great commuting day. Had to go in until about 2:30 pm today so I rode in (gorgeous spring day) and afterwards I rode home had something to eat, took a nap and had to be back for something at 8 pm rode back in and rode back home on a moonlit spring night along the Charles River. A fantastic 40 miles of commuting today- sweet!

Likewise for me also in the Boston Metro area. Saturday I did my first training ride of the season, meant to be 40 miles according to the schedule. I often do my Saturday long ride as an extended commute from Kenmore Square to Norwood, and then take the train home. Due to certain duties and time constraints, I did a bona fide round trip commute. I went 32 miles via Beacon St and Route16 through Wellesley to Rte 27 in Sherborn then via Farm St to Dover Center to Norwood. Dover was as usual swarmed with well-appointed cyclists.
Home was the usual 14 miles straight back to Kenmore.

Today was the usual 20 mile round trip- lovely though- there was a canoe race on the Charles on the way home- stopped and watched.

Thanks for the reply. What are the end points of your commute, if you don't mind me asking?
Where was the canoe race?Jim

Normal ride in at 6 C (44 F). In between storms this morning, and luck was on my side. I do expect to get drenched on the way home, but maybe my luck will hold out. The poor bike will be getting drenched all day.

Sunny & mid-40sF. No wind. I saw just 3 cyclists heading the other way, but no one going my way. There's a nice old man who walks his dog on the MUP. He's a fixture on my commute, even in the middle of winter. He always gives me a big wave and I wave back.

Excellent ride in this morning at 49F and mostly cloudy with winds from the NE @ 6mph. Felt strong and made great time despite leaving the house a little late. I brought the rain gear because they are expecting rain for the afternoon commute.

First bike commute in probably 3 years today.
- Couldn't find the back for the folding bike
- Rode the folding bike to the train station, ~1.6 mi.
- Got on the train, got flak from the conductor for not having a bag
- Got off, rode the ~0.6 mi. to work
- I haven't ridden in so long, my quads are a little sore from even this short ride.
- It feels better on my bum leg to ride a bike than to walk. (I broke the hell out of it in a motorcycle crash in Nov.)
I feel good though, more energy than normal, and I'm actually looking forward to the commute home.
The new bike (Fisher Simple City 3) should be arriving tomorrow or Wednesday, so I have to decide if I should spend the extra $50 or so and get a bag for the folder or forget riding then ~0.6 mi. on the work end of the commute and just take the new bike to the train station at the home end. I'm kind of leaning towards that, as the roads are super-rough here, and my behind is taking a beating with the little 16" wheels on the folder.
I look forward to losing all the weight (~ 15 lbs.) I gained when I stopped cycling part of the commute. I think it will make up for the part of my soul that is missing since I stopped motorcycling.
Cars scare me a lot more now that I can't keep up with them though.

Warm enough (62 F) to ride without a vest this morning for a change. The humidity was up because we got a fair amount of rain over the weekend, but at least it cleared some of the pollen out of the air. Hopefully the pollen season is almost over, at least the worst of it. It's been a tough few weeks in NC for allergy sufferers.

great ride in, the weather seems like it wants to head towards spring here in seattle, but they're calling for cooler temps and rain for the rest of the week. many more bikes out today- there were 7 bikes ahead of me waiting at Montlake to catch the bus across 520. only had to wait 5-10 minutes though, so not bad at all.

Stunning. Odd, commuting in after sunrise for awhile. Low 50's - I dressed a little cool, so I hammered and got warmed up. Got to the station in plenty of time, and helped a rough-looking dude with buying the right train ticket.
Off the train and headed to the office, it was so nice, I had to struggle not to just keep riding awhile.

Woke up late (4am). I still decided to ride in this morning. Got to work on time(5am). I am glad I work close to where I live. It was cool nice commute this morning. This is my 4th week riding, and I have only had one mean driver honk at me to get off the road, the rest just smile and move over. The ride home seemed to be a bit cooler. I loved riding down my street, the trees are all beginning to fill up with their green leaves. Everyone have a great day and stay safe!

Nice morning, but I was dressed a bit warm. More construction on Farefield road. The equipment has broken up the shoulder on one side of the road, while the other shoulder has been excavated. So this puts me in the lane. I'll be glad when it's done.

I had a cool, rainy, and uniquely Philadelphian commute this morning. I counted 5 scrap metal guys out with their shopping carts digging through trash cans, and I rode through a giant cloud of weed from a dude smoking on the corner while he waited for the bus...at 6:30am.
