Awesome! Last week we had bad weather almost every day so on got to ride in once between that and having errands after work.
Nice and cool this morning. Humidity dropped significantly today so despite being almost 90 it was a nice ride home.

Nice ride in this morning. Lots of riders. This will probably be the last week of cool morning temps.
Now, I prepare for the ride home. Currently, 109.

The ride home was not as nice as the ride in. I felt great for the first 3 miles--then my right pedal bolt literally snapped in half. I was going about 15mph at the time and had just stood up to push a bit harder when I heard a loud POP and felt my butt hit the saddle. I miraculously did not crash and was able to stop pretty quickly and compose myself. I made it to the LBS 3 minutes before closing and had them swap out the junky spare pedal (which they just slapped on for free last week to tide me over) with a nice new one. Whew, it was a close call though...

My morning ride was crisp and little wind. However, the ride home was neither --35mph gusts of winds mixed scattered showers. I didn't see any other folks out either.

Great ride today. 21 miles in, 6 MPH wind off the front quarter. Little traffic and polite drivers and pleasantly cool (59-62 F). 23 mile route coming home. Tailwind all the way, low 70s and 10 min faster than the ride in. Felt like I was flying.

Did my first official commute today! It was a lovely day for it; sunny with temps in the low-mid 80's in the morning. After a quick stop for breakfast, I took off on my 12 mile ride. I made it to work in just over an hour, and once I get myself a proper set of panniers to hold my stuff instead of having a bag lashed to my rack, I hope to shave a few minutes off since I won't be horrifically paranoid about loosing my stuff. I'll pick those up this Friday once I have a chance to stop by the LBS and pick up the new bike. :-D

Fechten,
You are aware of bikeforum rules dealing with posting of new bike photos? This is especially the case if you mention said bike in this forum.

Will be posting as soon as I get it in my hot little hands. Will a picture of the current bike suffice for now?

Nice ride in this morning - as Sixty Fiver said, the cool temperature and the slightest hint of precipitation (and no wind) made for an enjoyable commute. It rained all afternoon, but stopped just before I was to head home. I thought the commute home would be just like the commute in, but alas, the rain started up again halfway home, and I was pretty soaked by the time I got home. Saw a guy who had pulled over on his Segway to put on a rain coat.

Enjoyed the ride. Although i almost got plowed by someone pulling out of a parallel spot. I had to jam the brakes, as i see the lady on here cell phone mouthing "sorry" to me as she continues to cut in front of me.
Next block i was waiting at a stop light, first in line in the dead center of my lane, while a motorist tried to squeeze between me and the delivery truck next to me as if to imply "I'm going first". I just shifted over a few feet right in front of them and threw a smile in their direction. Blew 'em away at the light change.
Oh, and took my favorite route with a big downhill, where i swear i can hit 45mph (no computer, just feels really fast)!!

It got a bit chilly today at 10 C (50 F) at 5am. I miss the warm mornings, and I know that they will be back. I can never get enough of them.

Perfect commuting the past two days -- clear, mild temperatures and low humidity. I barely had a drop of sweat on me when I got to work today. Last week, I was drenched with sweat every day with much higher temps and humidity.
I've also been riding my Merckx Corsa more instead of my touring bike and really enjoying it for a change of pace. I'm not having to carry much clothing due to the mild temperatures and don't need my high-powered lights with the longer days, so the racing bike is fine with a large seatbag. Riding the Merckx cuts my commute time by 3-4 minutes each way and it's more fun to ride.

Beautiful cool and crisp. First ride in wearing lycra shorts. I was fast fast fast!
There's a big difference how I feel stepping on the commuter train compared to being "cool tough bike guy" in camo baggy cargo shorts and being 6'4" 180# long legs in lycra...
But with the nice weather, I've been riding the whole 16 miles back home, and saving myself the cost of a monthly train pass.

Sunny, and low 50s again today. Actually felt a bit chilly for the first mile or so. (Shorts & short-sleeved jersey.) I was feeling feisty. I spotted a cyclist a bit of distance behind me on the MUP, and bolted.
Didn't see the person again. I heard ducks quacking in the air but couldn't see them through the trees.

Nice bike, tarwheel. I haven't been able to ride my road bike recently due firstly to required maintenance, and then to bad weather. It's been nice to reacquaint myself with my old commuter, but I'm still anxious to get back to the speed and agility of the road bike.
No rain this morning, but the gravel trails were pretty soupy from the rain yesterday and last night. I felt really slow today. Saw a sidewalk cyclist just about get nailed in an intersection by a right-turning car, but the driver managed to slam on his brakes and stop in time. Saw the driver shaking his head as he drove away. Gotta say, I'm with the driver on that one.

Left late on the ride home yesterday. Man, did it make a difference. The trail was a bit congested, and I had a couple close calls. A pedestrian bolted in front of me, and now I know that instead of saying "watch out!" I say "eeep eeep eeep eeep eeep" in a really high pitched voice. Danger siren? Glad I had my brakes replaced recently, because I stopped just inches behind her. Her friend scolded her, "you can't zig-zag on the bike lane! There are bikes!"
This morning I did not ride, as I have an interview later today and I don't want to be all sweaty. So I took the train instead. I might do some riding this evening to make up for it.

First commute in awhile dealing with weather and older dog. The commute this morning was great, 55* and clear. First commute with my new Axiom Seymour panniers, enough room for a change of clothes, shoes, coffee thermos and lunch with room to spare. They worked great and feels better with the center of gravity lowered. Didn't see any other commuters this morning but did see the usual walker.

This morning's commute was insanely nice. I'm still digging the trekking bars in a big way, especially riding into that headwind this AM.
Much cooler and drier than last week, better than yesterday even. I usually use my Topeak EXP rack trunk w/ fold-down panners for commuting, but I got a set of Axiom Lasalles over the weekend as a birthday gift. I wanted/want them for touring use, as I expect the trunk rack to still do most of my commuting duty, but the new panniers were just begging me for a trial run to the office today, so I threw my things into them and did my first ride w/ my new Axiom LaSalles on the back instead of the trunk rack... so it's Axiom first rides all over the place!
They passed the test of this AM's commute. I like 'em! Now to throw a LOT more stuff in them, strap a tent to the top of the rack and do some overnights! :-)

Rode the old fixed gear Trek for the first time in awhile. I had been thinking about selling it to help fund a powertap purchase, but doggone it, it's such a fine riding bike. And I can always put a geared drivetrain on it.... I guess I'll have to keep her.
Made a stop at the polls. My wife always votes by absentee ballot, but there's something important symbolically to me in showing up to the polls in person.

Mostly pleasant. Until I arrived at an intersection where I normally unclip my usual right SPD. However a pedestrian wandered towards me and before I know it, I fell on my left clipped side.
So I think I will unclip both sides when there are peds around.
