Rained last night, so took it easy down my dirt road until I got to pavement. Dodged a few puddles along the way, but was able to stay dry and racing stripe free! Looking forward to the ride home tonight!

Sunny, calm, 10C. Very nice cycling weather. Stopped to help a damsel in distress.

It looks like it is a gorgeous day out there... I got to take the day off from the commute but will be going out to run errands and pick up parts.

If you are free after work there is a show and shine happening downtown from 4-8 with a movie and bbq.

I got crapped on by a bird! That's a first for me. Happily, it only landed on my hand. But I couldn't shake it off, and I didn't need to stop until I actually got into work. It got nice and baked onto my glove. Awesome.

Not bad! Or at least a lot better than me . I averaged 11.2 mph from the 'burbs (I'm out near Avon/Plainfield) to downtown, and 10.2 from there this morning which is pretty good for me. Total ride is 6.5 each way. Weather for the ride home this afternoon looks perfect!

Not the best certainly. My make shift pannier didn't hook up properly. Kept bouncing off each time I hit a bump! I think one of the hook has lost its integrity. The bag ended up getting caught with the rear spokes. Not a good feeling at all. Had to gingerly ride 1/3 of the way in.
Gonna check on the wheel and tires at lunch.

Started out a little cool but that changed quickly. Got the gearing fixed part way so I could switch it in higher gear down hills. Really flew but I need to switch the MTB's with slicker tires. Not many 24's out there though. Also pedaled up all the hills had in the lowest gear but made it!

72 hours? I give blood all the time and the usual warning is 24 hours. Hmmm. Maybe because of weather conditions?

No commutes this week so far. We bought a new house Friday and were told the keys would be available Monday "sometime" and I'd have to pick them up 3 towns over so I drove just in case. Of course, they didn't call about the keys until after I was already home from work.

Yesterday we moved in; no work so no commute.

I managed to throw my back out yesterday despite hiring movers to do the work (I'm not the type to stand and watch other people work, even if I'm paying them). By last night it was in constant spasm. I felt better this morning after pounding fluids overnight and taking a double dose of Aleve, but I didn't want to push it.

Tomorrow: first commute from the new location--a piddly 3.3 miles from the office! Next week I'll start looking at ways to stretch the commute.

Dropped the car off at the mechanics for an oil change. Had my bike in the back and rode in from there. Shaved off two miles on my morning commute, all at a price tag of $865 in recommended maintenance. Hmmm. new bike instead?

Wow!!! It was practically a traffic jam of cyclists today. Usually I seldom see anything except cars. This morning I shared the road with three cyclists today. Must be the hot weather that's making more people want to cycle in general.

Ride in was fine, ride home was a little eventful. I saw a car turned the wrong way up ahead blocking an intersection, a fire truck and ambulance behind it, and a cop detouring traffic. I thought it was an accident, so rather than detouring with the cars I decided to walk half a block around the "accident" and continue on my way. I got halfway down the block before I noticed the SWAT team exiting a large van and donning their gear. Then I looked to my right down an alleyway and saw a mass of cop cars...that's when I heard the police helicopters overhead. Oops! I biked as fast as I could out of that mess! I assume they were looking for a fugitive of some sort. Not that unusual, unfortunately, but I didn't want to be in the middle of it!

Back in the saddle today after two days driving. Tuesday I had to drive so I could get my truck inspected. Time was running out and it's hard to do stuff like that when you bike commute almost every day. Yesterday I let the weather forecasters scare me into driving as they were calling for thunderstorms all day, but we hardly got a drop of rain and that didn't start until evening. Oh well, I rode every day last week, so my weekly average for the month is still good (4 days/week).

60F and damp from rain over night. Another baby bunny was on the MUP and hopped off into the tall grass when I got close. Too cute. I reeled in a guy on a hybrid. He was riding around 17MPH so I didn't pass. We split up and then he appeared again behind me at a red light. He started when the "walk" signal lit. I started when the light turned green. I passed & dropped him going uphill. My commute was almost over so I could expend the energy.

Yesterday I had a gnarly tailwind for the ride home.

Last night was horrid. The wind was bad enough that it blew dirt/rain in my eyes making in hard to see almost blew me off the bike twice. Probably should of got a ride home. My rear light fell off and lost my screwdriver hoping to find it tonight. This morning was a bit tired and the ride was uneventful.. had a hard time finding the right gear. Tonight's commute promises to be a hot one. Haven't decided if I want to stop by the gym it's chest/shoulders day.

Cloudy, calm, 10C. Passed a lot of other cyclists today, including one guy twice somehow (must have taken a shortcut), and a woman walking her electric-assist bike up a hill. I thought the electric assist was supposed to make going up hills easier? Maybe her battery died.

Also saw a guy (going in the opposite direction) wearing bib shorts and a cycling jersey, riding a 20" folder. Don't see that every day.

Aside from the usual parade of freds, I rode behind a woman in a form fitting black dress who had a nice form.

Of course, you mean that she rode well, kept the bike calm beneath her even when standing out of the saddle, steady cadence, etc. Right?

First commute from the new house. All of 3 miles, boring, flat, and way too short. I'd planned to investigate longer routes starting Monday; I might not last even that long.

Road home last night in a headwind, man that sucks. This morning was chilly at first, but didn't notice after I got going. Should be perfect weather for ride home tonight!

Got another flat yesterday afternoon but, the tube held well/long enough for me to get home on it. This was really surprising given the amount of air that was coming out initially. It happened near the rugby fields just as what looked to be a storm was approaching. I was walking the bike to a nearby, shaded picnic table when I noticed the leak had stopped. Since I didn't feel like changing the tube in a rainstorm, I thought I'd try to get to one of the overpasses near the airport but, once I got there I figured I'd continue on until I ran completely out of air. It didn't happen and I was able to make it home. Another bonus, the patch that I put on last night is actually holding, even at 120 psi-that's a rare occurance for me.

The ride in this morning was nice and this afternoon's ride home promises to be spectacular-I wish this weather would last all summer. Just gotta make it 1 1/2 more days without a flat then, I drop off the rr. wheel for a re-build and we're on vacation for a week. This will be a nice way to finish out the week.

That would mean she had nice form, not A nice form.
