Can you teach me how to do that?

Today was dry, warmer (75f), and pleasant. Still no wind to speak of. Not looking forward to Monday which is supposed to get up near 100f again.

All week we have had afternoon thunderstorms, but they hit either well before or after my commute. I rode my touring bike with fenders each of those days but didn't really need them. This morning my touring bike had a flat, so I rode one of my bikes without fenders. You can guess what happened. It's 4:30 pm on Friday and I want to go home for the weekend, but I'm stuck in my office waiting for a thunderstorm to pass. Sucks.

I wish I knew, man, I wish I knew. I apparently blacked out from the excessive speed/acceleration.

Hard to say, and I take nothing from that record too seriously. I do have quite a bit of non-moving time, but I think it is more like 7-12 minutes (depending on the lights). I am not sure where the excess came from. The actual numbers (taken from my ~other~ GPS -- told you this was geeky) were 19 miles in 1 hour 20 minutes, near enough as not to matter. Given that the 52 minutes of moving time would give me an average speed over 20 MPH, I think there were other issues. It started glitching almost immediately, and I just didn't feel like turning it off or resetting it.

What a ride home...I missed the big thunderstorm due to a delay at the office.

However, I did see one commuter pulled over apparently for running a red light. Never thought I would see that.

Then, while riding down along the mall this a-hole pulls right up on my tail then passes me with only a few inches to spare. I catch up to him at a light and join another cyclists right in front of the guy. He starts honking to make a right on red, we tell him to mellow out, then he pulls out and swerves around us. May he hit every red light.

16C, sunny with a few clouds. Nice ride into work until 1/2 block from the office. Some maniac decided to try and pass me on the right (block-long bus stop(s) + bicycle lane). I noticed him creeping up behind me in his P/U (following me, really, for the better part of the block). I signaled right, got into the right turn bay, maniac in the truck follows me through the turn, still crawling up my ass (at any time he could have safely and legally passed me on the left). After the right turn I signal a stop followed by a left turn (signaled both) coming soon and this maniac begins screeching like a loon, hollering some kind of unintelligible lunacy, ranting and raving for all to hear, making quite a display of himself before he makes a right turn up a dead end road across the street from my office.
So, what else could I do? I followed him and asked him what his problem was? Just some hyper-defensive ranting that I couldn't make heads or tails out of so I just shook my head and left.

His truck was still there at lunch so I typed him up a nice little note asking why he was upset. I don't expect a reply.

Didn't we try to tell his parents what kind of children would be produced after their crack abuse?

IT seems like the longer they follow you the more likely they are to do something stupid? the amount of stupid being directly porportional to he amount of time they stay behind you, even though they could pass.

Went two miles, to church and back. 56% humidity and 89*. Clear down to 90* now. Will commute tomorrow at 0500.

It was a relaxed ride in at 72 F (22 C). The traffic was normal, so no surprises. It was a great weekend for soccer (football). The women's world cup was one exciting game after another, culminating in a last minute US tie, and a win in a shootout. I spent too much time watching tv, and it will be a while before I can turn it back on.

40 miles yesterday meant a sore Monday but I was n the road early enjoying the quiet streets.

A bit warm and humid, but nice. Suppose to be a scorcher this afternoon. What the heck does "feels like" mean? It is suppose to be 94 and feel like 108. 94 is fine to ride home in, but 108 might not be.

Warm and humid here, too. For Vermont, anyway. 70f/21c, with a stiff headwind. I caught up to a line of 4 or 5 cyclists near the end of my ride. I'm not sure if they were all together or not. I just hung out behind them.

Monday. Blah.

It's how a human perceives the heat when amplified by humidity, so to speak.

58f Nice morning felt cooler than that though, I wussed out and didn't ride the 3speed I realized last night that I assembled it dry so nothings greased and I have a few wobbles and noises to work out hopefully tomorrow.

Mid seventies and very muggy this AM around 7:30. Tailwind was nice. I cruised along the river at around 20 mph for a spell w/o too much effort. Of course morning tailwind means a headwind after work, so I'll have that and 100+ heat index to deal with on the way home...

I got caught in a savage thunderstorm this morning. 80mph winds, tree branches coming down all around me, cats and dogs rain, thunder and lightning. not what i would call ideal conditions.

i checked the radar right before i left home and the storm line was still out in kane county, so i was sure i could beat it into work before it got to the lakefront, but no dice, this beast of a storm was moving fast.

Big storms last night but it was OK this morning. Got a new phone over the weekend, imapmyride and my bike computer do not agree how far I rode.

Supposed to be a hot and muggy one today.

Around 13C, cloudy, and a bit of a headwind. Forecast called for rain today, so I rode my fendered bike. I got my commuting road bike back from Sixty Fiver on Friday afternoon and have been itching to try out the new gearing on my commute, but it'll have to wait for drier days.

Warm and muggy for my 8:30am ride. It was 90F by 10:30am. There is a slight chance of thunderstorms for the ride home.

I walked to my chiropractor's office before work, then walked home and hopped on the bike. It's nice to feel good enough again to not miss work or drive.

Warm today - in the low 80's f (~27c). Very muggy the whole ride in as there were small storm cells dropping just enough rain to wet the pavement and move on. Wasn't paying attention to my speed on the wet path at one point and wiped out! Don't worry, the bike's okay! I'm still not used to how slippery my tires are on wet pavement.

This afternoon is forcasted to be quite hot. 101f (38c) with a heat index of 110f (43c)

yeah, I was racing that one too! It was in Rockford when I started, so I just snuck in before it. Not looking forward to the 100 degree ride back tonight!

Like most others today. Hot and humid only to be hotter and more humid on the way home. Hopefully I will at least have a tailwind on the way home in the 110* heat index.

60F, sunny. Rode geared (can't descend like Thomas Voekler on the fixie). Geared bike has a computer too so I could see the screaming high numbers, 18-20, 28, faster faster! According to my cell GPS avg speed was same as ever though.

it is 93 right now and it is suppose to warm up 3 more hours. A lot of you guys ride in this all the time right? Did it kill you?
