It was a bit cooler than I expected this morning (low 30's), and I mistakenly wore my lighter gloves. My fingers were a bit numb by the time I got in, but overall, it wasn't too bad. For some reason, traffic seemed a lot heavier than usual, though.

I did run into a fellow bike commuter in the elevator of my office building, though - which is a rare occurrence since I work in a pretty small building.

For once I'm glad I took the bus - I got off at the college and was promptly blown sideways by the 45kph+ wind that had come up. That would have been one nasty headwind for me, and I had a midterm this morning...

Commute was great, temps were perfect, slight wind. I did near-record time today. made a few lights I don't normally make. I think I need a new seat though, this B-68 is killing me.

This morning's ride was in the low 20's (F) and with reasonably dense fog. As I neared the office, I was surprised to see both sleeves of my sweater covered in frost. The fog must have collected and frozen on the tiniest fibers all over them and my gloves too.

Skies were clear otherwise and with no wind, it was a pretty nice day for the ride.

My commute - as always working from home does not offer much of a commute but the ride today was nice. Weather held up well enough, though that headwind made the workout all that much more exciting.

Thought I saw a squall line on the radar this morning, so I was hoping to give my new Showers Pass jacket (Elite 2.0) a little workout. Didn't find any rain, though, so I'll have to settle for the wind (works great so far!).

Great ride in this morning, with the temperature near 50F and little wind. We've had fantastic weather all week, and it's supposed to continue until this weekend, when it's supposed to get rainy and cold again. That's one of the advantages of bike commuting -- it's no big deal if you get rained out on the weekends. Yesterday I had my longest commute, riding all the way downtown to pick up new glasses, so I ended up with 40 miles round trip. Took it easy and stopped for a hamburger at a drive-in on the way home, enjoying the sunshine and 60 degree temps.

Today was the first day in nearly four months that I've been able to bike into work (accident in November that kept me off for a month, and then a really nasty winter that ruled it out). I have missed the feeling of fresh air on my face soooo much. 34 and 10mph wind in my face for the most part. Still a few icy patches, but nothing I couldn't avoid.

I redid the setup on my road bike by putting a rear rack and adding panniers (I used to do a backpack). It's a lot more comfortable for the 8 mile ride, though I do have to get used to the extra weight in the rear. Since I altered my route as well (all road, no bike path), I added more lights to the back of my bike, 3 super flashes.

Cars gave me a lot of distance.

Hooray, first cummute since mid Dec. We've had a heck of a winter here. Nice day, about 30f, no wind, sunny. Traffic was louder then I recalled. And the final mile or two is barely passable. The Nashbar studs made it through. Smooth ice was fine, but the rough patches, whew, quite a work out.

Removed the DIY lights, so bike was a lot lighter. Added drop bars this year. Still futzing with the position, may need to go to a shorter stem.

You'd think the town with the most rabid development could at least run a plow along the bike path.

A pretty good ride in, but I'm annoyed by my inability to predict what I need for the temperatures - I rode out in a light windbreaker & short sleeved shirt, but quickly realized I needed to don gloves & earmuffs.

Both of those (gloves & earmuffs) came off again before I reached work, 6 miles away.

First commute since I came down with my cold. Cooler weather cycling helps one cough up mucus and all the other lovely things after a cold.
Took it nice and slow. Then decided I could ride the remaining 13 miles and skipped the light rail.
It's good to be back.

One more bike in our parking garage bike rack today! People are getting more confident for the weather. Though I'll miss pretty much having my pick of spots on the rack.

Breezy again on the ride in today, still can't belive how dry it is out there. I wore a long sleeve sweater today as it was a little cooler, but still pretty damn wonderful for March.

yesterday - had to drop off the wife's van at the dealership so I got to bike in from there - different route so it was fun - also had to go pick it up again as well as do some other errands/stops.

today was a typical commute - felt good. I think I am going to change my route home tonight though. Need something different and want to get off the main road a bit more as well.

My training partner bailed on me this morning so I took the opportunity to scout out a route from Natomas. I've had 4 or 5 colleagues ask me for commuting advice but they live north of the Sacramento and routes seem to be tough to do on a bike.

LOL, did you just tell me (nicely of course) to harden TF up?

I'm still chickening out today, I think. A 40 kph headwind gusting to 50 is a little more than "breezy"!

Gorgeous morning - weather report said fog, but it was clear and breezy. Coming home yesterday on the MUP, there were tons of cyclists out. (I usually see 5-6; yesterday there were more like 20)

Passed a motorist pulled up on the side of the road, clearly broken down. Asked him if he needed a hand (thinking cell phone, help pushing the car to the corner). No, he said, he just needed some air for a flat.

Told him he could use my mini pump, but it would probably take him about 2 days to inflate the tire. He laughed and said no thanks.

Beautiful morning. 70s. slight headwind.few cyclists out, passed about six peds.

The snow finally melted from the roads! Now I can go fast(er) again! Plus I don't have to wear boots, back to shoes and normal cycling gloves instead of snowboarding gloves... ahhhh, I hope this actually turns into spring.

been slack on the old computer lately i wish i could say it was from so much riding but i cant, just busy with work

I have kept the commute up which has been awesome although today it was a little hot, 39degrees

T'was great as the weather has been incredible for this time of year and I got to take my newly minted Phillip's Twenty folder on it's inaugural run.

Nice ride in today--right around the freezing mark and no wind.

Forecast for today calls for a high about 30'F higher! Looks like from chilly fingers to sunblock.

Rode in today for the first time this year, and to my new office in VA. A little chilly, but still very nice.

First commute of the year for me too, Hands got a bit cold for a while but eventually I had a light sweat worked up and all body parts were warm enough. No issues other than my Cygolight seemed very anemic. The battery is 4-5 years old now (and the light itself is 8-9), so I suspect it is no longer holding a full charge. I suspect its time to upgrade.
