I lost a insulated coffee mug (with coffee) due to a patch done to the road around an intersection. I, also, didn't go back for the mug... I was fairly brand new too which only compounded my unhappiness...

I have a wired Planet Bike Protege 9 that ejects from its mount at inopportune times. I now have it mounted with the top facing downward and a rubberband so it stays put. I have also lost my share of blinkies including a PB.

My problem with wireless computers was that high powered lights would make them freak out completely.

Yesterday was my first ride with a little .380 in one particular jersey. First I purchased a Ruger LCP after Christmas specifically for taking on the bike, it weighs like 14 ozs. w/7rnds. plus holster
and as I wanted to make sure it was dependable (300 rnds. through it as of last week 1 malfunction, fte , good enough ). Started pagking it last week, all has been fine..... 'till today. I have this one Pearl Izumi jersey that the pockets stretch and droop if any weight is in them , so I instead of vertically I place the pistol in the left pocket horizontally. iPhone in middle pocket , spare and in-
flator in right, off I go to do a fast 20-25 miles, thefirst little overpass on the MUP I feel everything moving around , I reach back to my left pocket, squeeze the holster , and to my horror it's empty
Immediately I think the gun has bounced out on the trail , then as I'm slowing down I reach further around in the pocket and I can feel the gun need less to say I reurned home slowly to retrieve
anothr jersey to continue my ride

seems to me once is enough, if things keep falling off then lessons aren't being learned. PBSF needs to be secured to bike mount with a piece of tape or elastic. Back of the helmet is a secure place.

Lost a front wheel once when I jumped a dip in the road...don't remember that one clearly. Wrecked both me and the bike. I only dabbled in cycling then.

Wasted coffee? What a shame. It could be worse... wasted beer.

Planet bike rear light. Light body separated from the base. Grr. Taped it together and purchased other brand lights from there on out.

Sunlight panniers. Had issues with one bouncing off. Very bad. Started utilizing auxiliary bungee cord, but gave up on rear portage and went with front rack and bag on commuter bike. If I was in some situation where a rear rack and panniers were again necessary, I'd go with upgraded gear, not budget stuff.

I forgot to close the straps on my Carradice seatbag when leaving work one day and lost my wallet and eyeglasses. That was a very expensive lesson to learn. I noticed the open bag about halfway home and retraced my route, but only found a few scattered cards from my wallet. When I got home, I called my credit card company and someone had already charged $500 worth of electronics equipment at Best Buy. Fortunately, I didn't have to pay for the bogus charges but the new eye glasses cost over $300. Needless to say, I now double check everything before leaving.

Last summer after purchasing a cheapo commuter, I had the left hand side crank fall off my bike while I was chatting up this really nice looking female cyclist... needless to say that the most embarrassing moment was when she did a u-turn and returned with my crank and pedal in hand. Other than that, nothing has fallen off my recent quality commuter, except for some extra pounds around my waist! lol
