60 DEGREE'S! .. in November.. in Missouri.. There isn't anything else to say.

essiemyra 12-10-15 05:45 AM

The commute was a nice uneventful commute with the temp at 43f degrees this am. Though the roads were wet, I did not have any rain on my commute.

And 50 degree's this morning. A bit windy but not going to complain. Probably wear shorts tomorrow also and that'll be it till March-May!

Back to riding my summer bike, the temps here in Minneapolis are unbelievably warm. A high of 47F!

Normally I don’t eat anything before the AM commute.
This morning I grabbed a couple of the wife’s attempt at coconut macaroons.
Big mistake.I was balancing ‘effort’ vs ‘need-to-puke’ all the way to work. Ug.
It was dark and rainy.

Sorry you weren't feeling well for the ride, but that post is hilarious.

Right at 40F for the morning ride. It's been a little warmer each day. Tonight's low is forecast to be above 50, so I'll probably ride in shorts tomorrow.

Beautiful weather this morning with clear skies for a change and temps in the mid-40s. Finally a morning with no fog, which has kept me from riding the past two days. High temps are supposed to hit mid to upper 60s today and tomorrow, which is very mild for December around here. I hope the weather is this nice during Christmas week because I will be off work the entire week.

Been commuting/riding around NYC for a few years now. Haven't bumped into Neistat yet.
Have seen some of his work. Like most folks; 1st heard of him thru his riding the bike paths fiasco.
Some of his follow ups after that; I don't find as funny/interesting. Hoverboard, bike vs. sports car, etc.

Sorry, but that's hilarious. I hope your wife doesn't read this board!! When I left the house it was 41F. Had a breakfast meeting and when I got back on the road it was nearly 50F. I know it won't last but I'll take it!

He started doing a daily vlog back in March. They're pretty entertaining, and I have to say, it's amazing that he can shoot and edit content of that quality every single day.

Overslept an hour this morning... again. Stupid phone. If I swipe right to reveal the code keypad or touch my thumb to the home button while the alarm is going off, it will not go to the Snooze timer. If I touch Snooze on the screen, or hit the Sleep/Awake button, it will. Sometimes in my half-awake state I do the wrong thing.

Just as well, we had SUPER thick fog this morning and probably would not have been a safe day to ride. So I brought my utility bike to work with the car, to ride home. When I got to work it looked like the bike had been rained on, it was so wet.

This afternoon it should be sunny and 65 with a tailwind. Nice. Tomorrow morning it's supposed to be cloudy and 60!!! Pretty crazy for December around here. Normal highs are in the mid-50's.

a great ride this morning. I wore a regular jersey instead of wool and glasses only barely fogged up. Much better. Still a great ride. I have over 80 miles this. Nice weather for DECEMBER

@noglider that is pretty weird how the GPS did that. 98 mph on a bike is IMPRESSIVE.

I've had several funny GPS errors. This is probably my favorite.

I haven't seen him, but I might not recognize him. I believe he lives in my neighborhood. It's a very cycling-intensive neighborhood, so most cyclists don't stand out.

Curly-headed dude with black Ray-Bans, talking into a DSLR camera with big microphone on top using one of those flexible tripods, while riding a Boosted Board (electric skateboard). Probably hard to miss, I would guess. I haven't seen him riding a bike so much lately in the vlogs.

It rained last night and my knee was hurting during the commute.
I had to drive today (other reasons) but maybe it's good to give the knee a rest.

I used to bike commute a couple days a week from my old apartment which was 25 miles away from work. It was definitely pushing it but doable. I ended up moving even further away due to my wife's job at the time. This pretty much put a halt on me bike commuting. I decided last night to drive to my old neighborhood, park, and ride from there. This was the first time with my new bike and I had a tailwind the entire way. I ended up averaging over 19mph - it felt like I was damn near flying. A lot of fun but since I'm currently working graveyard shift here and I'm actually at work I'm kind of dreading the ride back home... We'll see.

tarwheel 12-11-15 07:39 AM

Another beautiful morning with clear skies and temps in the upper 40s. The high is supposed to reach 70 F this afternoon and over the weekend as well. Nothing eventful on my ride this morning, which is probably a good thing.

KCBikeCommuter 12-11-15 08:30 AM

Commuted on Monday, drove Tuesday, and then commuted on Wednesday. Drove in Thursday morning (with the bike in the car), and commuted home. Then commuted back to work this morning and will drive home tonight. I normally try to commute M/W/F and drive on T/Th, but since my wife and I have some errands to run after work, this allows me to get home quicker this evening.

arsprod 12-11-15 08:34 AM

Still pleasant temps, 43F today with thick, spooky fog

wphamilton 12-11-15 08:46 AM

I got scolded by city construction workers on the Greenway last night, since they had after all closed off both ends of a section to work some drainage issues. They're usually gone after dark and I wanted to check up on what they were doing so I hopped the fence and rode through slowly. There were 4 or 5 still hanging around. Oops. I had to play dumb and cheerful saying "Sorry, I'll go around" as I went past.

Phil_gretz 12-11-15 08:48 AM

Really, really nice this morning at 47F with light winds. I decided to ride the fixed gear because this afternoon's ride home will be in~65F weather!!! Shorts and a jersey again. Yay. I may extend the ride home just to savor it.

PatrickGSR94 12-11-15 09:32 AM

65° with mist/fog/spitting rain. Getting up into the 70's today and this weekend, with strong storms supposed to roll through Sunday. Bit of a headwind, so I was pretty slow despite a nice ride. I think I only had one dumbarse motorist pass me on a curve this time.

HardyWeinberg 12-11-15 10:35 AM

40F, clammy

no motor? 12-11-15 12:24 PM

Surprisingly warm this morning, I had a thin and medium weight baselayer on and was too warm.

caloso 12-11-15 01:09 PM

Streets were wet and covered with slimy leaves. So glad for fenders.

noglider 12-11-15 01:13 PM

Last night's commute was weird. It was December 10, normally a cold day, and we would expect it to be also windy or damp or downright wet and maybe both windy and wet. It was 55ºF or so. I had my ski mittens, so I kept those on and took my jacket off. I had cycling tights and a short sleeve jersey on. The tights are warm. So picture a guy on a bike wearing short sleeves and mittens. That's what I looked like. My arms were just a little cold, but the rest of me was warm, and if I had worn anything else, I would have been too hot. Weird.
