Over 60* (barely) for the 2nd day this year - and sunny - meant a long ramble was in order. Got 50 mi and was totally flagged at the end. 1978 Batavus Competition, Ishi022, Ergo9 triple.
From home, northward to Redmond via sunny E Lk Samm Rd- and the large, multi-use Marymoor Park. Return same. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...f3e35596d.jpeg Past the paragliders. Someone touching down when I rode by. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...d6cf76a51.jpeg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...42214da92.jpeg Not everything is in bloom yet. Friday, Apr. 2, had a MTB sized triple crankset put on my Giant Escape 3 Comfort to make hills easier to climb so I walked the 3 miles from the apt. to the shop, then took the bike out on the Midland Trail over to the 31st. street bike lane to pick up the Foothills Trail that goes by the outside of the Garden of the Gods, here in Colorado Springs, CO. This trail has several steeper uphill grade spots so I could test out the 22/32/44 triple set up and VERY happy with the difference!! 3 miles walking and 11 miles for the ride, Sunny 60 F with bit of breeze, really enjoying the new bike!!! :)

42 mile gravel ride. Cloudless skies but brisk winds and temperatures in the 40’s. Things you see out gravel riding.

WOW, a unbelievable early spring day here in So. Colorado, 75 F (new record), just a breeze and lot's of SUN!! Had to take my old bike up to the shop to be packed and shipped to a new owner, the shop don't open till 10 AM. So we got a late start but went for a ride anyway as it was WAY to nice not to!! 19 miles RT, several Urban Trails, stopped at a 7-11 on 8th. St. for a BIG BITE Hot Dog, we only splurge for one of these every once in a while but we found them, ON SALE 2 for $3 dollars so we chowed down, YUM. We then headed west to end up in Manitou Springs at a park for stop, break and a apple! Headed back home but added more distance so we could ride the Shooks Run Trail back north and arrive at our Apt. at 3 PM. Heading out tomorrow too, putting the bikes in the old Ford Ranger, heading 40 miles south to Pueblo, CO. to ride the Arkansas River Trail along the water way in the Pueblo Reservoir State Park, be sweet to actually get out of town for once!!! :)

Yesterday, 16+ miles. Sunny, high 60s-low 70s, winds over 15 mph. The wind shifted, so I had to pedal into a headwind for over half the ride ... and it was worth every pedal stroke. This was my first ride with my new headset, installed by LBS mechanic because I messed up my old 39 year old Avocet. This was also my first ride with a 45/42/28 crank, and it shifted fine; I'm really glad I did something right.:) I tried out what passes for a hill around here, and my HR at the top after riding in a 28/20 gear was 15-20 BPM lower than when I used 42/24 or 42/22.

Haven’t ridden in 5 days after getting 12 yards of garden mulch delivered for our steep property. Have 5 yards to go. Probably should take a day off and get one in.

Got 19 miles in.today. the last mile was walking with a flat tire!

65 miles up to the in-laws for an Easter visit and meal. Perfect weather for riding! Surprisingly I lost some energy from not eating enough and felt puny the last few miles. My wife is losing weight and preparing us healthy but smaller portions. It’s helping her lose weight but I’m burning a heck of a lot more calories!
The meal today was prepared by my wife was terrific, ham, deviled eggs, potato salad, asparagus, Lima beans and cooked apples. I had plenty!! https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...84caea57b.jpeg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...eedba36dc.jpeg |
Changed it up today and gave a little love to my '94 Stumpy. It needed to stretch it's legs. Played around in one of my "playgrounds".

I rode 11 miles today. Yesterday, I rode 42 miles.

Glad, as always to post this thread
The lowest lands still a bit wet, but most Valley fields and bogs are drying. At least in the lower foothills east of Seattle. This valley is about 400’ in the Tiger/Cougar/Squak Mountain hill region. Flatish roads north to Sammamish Lake. Good trails most directions from Redmond - after I build better than ‘50mi form’, hopefully soon.

The ride above was yesterday.
Today I was also just cruisin 'round. JRA. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...8d2a473d0.jpeg Yes, we have no tomatoes - we have no tomatoes today. Or potatoes either. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...05e03478e.jpeg Color is out. I am still in tights - wool - Baaa! https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...bda7cf6ff.jpeg |

32 miles today. Off to see the Easter bunny. I am really enjoying riding this 37 year old bike. I don't want to give up my Bianchi, but for a change you can't beat old steel bikes. |

I don't want to give up my 37+ year old lugged steel bikes, but for a change you can't beat CF and Ergo. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...bec4b82230.jpg |
62 miles with 3400’ of hills. My slowest time ever doing that loop. No power to push the gears. Probably dehydrated from walking 18 holes this morning and the temperatures this afternoon reached 85 degrees. I did manage a a 1 under par 71 this morning.
I left my phone at home so no pictures. My wife didn’t like not being able to track me riding! |

My 2014 Giant Escape. I love this bike and where it takes me. Most of my riding is around north Naples and Bonita Springs, FL which is somewhat flatter than where you ride. So the Shimano 105 double compact chain rings meet my needs here. I don't ever want to see this bike die. It is a perfect ride for me. |
Rode my 6.5 mile TT. It's fairly flat. I'd guess about 200-300 ft of climbing. My fastest time ever is 19 mph. This was my first TT of 2021. At this time of the year I was hoping to crack 15 mph. So I was surprised and happy to come in at 17 mph.

Started at 7 am and got 24 miles in and mowed the yard before the rain started.

I got the second shot of the Pfizer yesterday morning, so only about eight miles of goofing off afterwards with a Contigo full of coffee in the water bottle holder.
For the four days before that, 145 miles. |
