Took another ride yesterday in the afternoon. It was hot, 92 or so. Went out with my son on our new Lambo Tandem, our first real ride outside the neighborhood. Had to wait till I got new brakes (Avid 7s with Koolstop pads) as the stock brakes were down right dangerous!

Anyway, we had a nice little one hour ride. Averaged 18+ and maxed at 29.7. See it here. https://ridewithgps.com/trips/1541

We had a great 35 mile ride along the Little Miami Scenic Trail and a few roads. The weather was perfect and lunch was fantastic......it just doesn't get much better

Rode 11-1/2 miles in an hour. Took my road bike on the trail down around the golf course. I tweaked my saddle position a couple of times, and finally got it comfy. I'm still going to take it easy for a while so my body has time to adjust. My hip is hurting a little right now, probably because I'm raising my knee higher when the pedal comes around to the top. Feels like the tendons/ligaments/muscles are being stretched to places they haven't been before.

Beverly, that looks like a really nice stretch of road to bike on.

Nice ride into work this morning about 70 degrees, 4 miles. The ride home was at least 90 but not bad if I don't stop Added an extra loop going home. I ended the day with 18.8 miles.

Thursday 8/13/09... Good day today, felt like riding as apposed to yesterday. Rode to Lake Mary and picked my renewed car tag decal, boy they sure jumped the price up on them this year. If you purchase them prior to the end of the month you get the old price and now you can buy them for two years instead of renewing every year. When I got back the temp was 90 degrees and felt like 99, the good news is the wife has replaced the Strawberry ice cream so all is well in slo spokes household.

Todays distance 30.26 (s)miles
Total distance this mo. 294.39 (s)miles
Total distance this yr. 4,040.90 (s)miles

It doesn't get any better than this!!!

Rode my new Nashbar Al/CF build to work from the auto repair shop. Rode back with a coworker's TREK hybrid (nice bike but YUK). He's considering buying the bike because roadies keep passing him on the commute. The weather was warm but sunny/nice.

I was thinking there might be afternoon thundershowers so I was using that as an excuse not to ride, sad huh? Well I went anyway and did 37 miles. Felt good and I sure could have killed some of the strawbeery ice cream kjc9640had. All I had was cantaloupe and a peach!

Yes, I rode.

I've got a rule which states: "You can only watch sports on TV if you've already worked-out."

There's an NFL pre-season game starting in five minutes, so you'll excuse me...

Rode to school for a presentation by an alumnus who attended Oxford as part of his study-abroad. Then rode an extra 45 minutes coming home just because...

39 miles this morning despite prsence of gout on the right foot. No ride for the next few days until flareup subsides. What a pain. I hope nobody else suffer from it.

I've rode 33 miles so far. Three 11 miles loops with restful breaks inbetween. The first two loops were very relaxed. The last time around I hit it hard at the halfway point and kept the speed up to over 13 mph for the last 5.5 miles. There at one point I was going 25.5 mph.

Thanks, 20 mph tailwind. You're OK.

I'll probably ride the loop a couple more times today. I'll let you know....and I'll try not to nag.

Rode my regular 2-hour endurance path for Friday. Was a nice day, with the bit of wind here not too hard to fight.

Rode to work. And back. Got in twenty miles total.
Helps me to appreciate riding without carrying panniers full of clothes and work-related stuff.

Saturday 8/15/09... Great day today, felt like riding so I was on the road before 6 am. Today was a good wildlife day I saw 8 deer 2 turkeys and 2 gofer turtles. When I got back to the Slo spoke household the temp was 91 degrees and felt like 100. The wife fixed a nice lunch for me before she went shopping so all is well in slo spokes world.

Really hot and humid here. However I took the Ancient Road Bike out for about 45 miles. I rode some back roads and then spent some time on the MUP. There were a great many people out running and riding on the trail.

Left the folder in the car and mounted the trusty Raleigh for a little ride at Penn's Landing along Philly's waterfront. Beautiful morning before the heat.
