I rode for a couple of hours this afternoon. I was trying out my new tires, and I was having such a good time, I didn't go home until dark. It was a beautiful Colorado day with sunshine, and temps in the high 50s.

Twenty miles around Orange Beach Alabama, mid 70's, humid, averaged 14 mph, got home about 15 minutes before frog strangler blew through. Rode past part of the Gulf State Park that was destroyed by wildfire last year and an old building converted into an Indian museum.

I got to do some hills today, Kong and King Kong. It felt good to get out again and spin the crank. Hopefully the longer rides will ensue.

22 miles on a 50 degree, sunny day with no wind. Hard to believe this kind of weather on the backside of november. Its predicted to be even warmer tomorrow! http://i1195.photobucket.com/albums/...cture006-1.jpg

21 miles in cool clear air. Just a little bit of NW wind at times.
This evening I hope to take advantage of the good weather (and new moon) to take my scope out for a bit of observing. And to continue subject-jumping, I keep thinking it's Saturday since I'm always at work on Wednesday! (I took the day off) :D |
YEAH!! Great ride - about 5 hours on the mtn bike including miles of sandy dirt trails, breakfast (sausage burrito and fruit and yogurt parfait) for breakfast, a 45 minute swim, lunch at Wendy's (side salad, etc.).
This is the kind of riding I love. Started off about 38F and I just kept shedding layer after layer as it warmed into the 60's. |
Is spin class riding? One hour of "tough love", and a huge puddle of sweat on the floor!

20 miles today in my role as Bike Commuter. Lower 40's this morning and upper 40's this afternoon but dry so I can't complain. Supposed to be sunny and a bit warmer on Turkey Day.

After prepping today's dinner, I got out for a short ride up on the BRP. Beautiful day up there but it's the time of year where there is a very noticeable difference in temperature between the sunny and shady sections. It feels balmy in the sun and the shade holds ice and frost. So it is sort of like riding in and out of a cold refrigerator.

I got out at around 10 this morning, rode 22 miles. Came home to the smell of turkey cooking!!!
|
Not today, I'm working. Ya'll be careful, hear?

The wife and I went for her birthday ride for about 1 hour. Beautiful, gorgeous day.
|
Got out for a twelve mile ride this morning while my stoker was making pumpkin and butterscotch pies.
Then, after I got the turkey (breast) in the oven, we went out for a ten mile ride on the Screamer. |
Beautiful day here. Just got back from a 69 miler with +/- 3400 feet. Burnt up 3600 calories.
Now - where is that chocolate pie! |
We took an afternoon ride once the Thanksgiving guests had gone home. It was beautiful and sunny with a light breeze. It was cool though, I found myself wishing I had worn my tights rather than the shorts but I warmed up enough to enjoy the ride, thoroughly. After ride pie was enjoyed, pecan for yours truly and pumpkin for Monica. Mmmmmm.

After not riding for 4 days, family emergency and Thanksgiving, I finally rode 23 miles today. I felt a lot slower, but my overall avg over 23 miles was 15.9 mph--usually I avg 16.3 to 17 depending on the day.

I hit a new distance for me today, 30 miles. Not a lot I know, but my longest so far. About 80 % on the road and 20% on dirt trails in the state forest. Nice day in Connecticut today.

20 miles on a perfect day for a ride. Wore my summer kit in bright sunny low-mid 60s.

25 miles today in mid/upper 60s F and blue skies. Colder/rainy weather is supposed to be coming, so I'm glad I was able to ride today.
A few cellphone shots from my ride. The first two were taken while I was riding, which is tricky trying to hold the phone, work the camera and not drop it nor crash. :twitchy: http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=228226 http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=228223 http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=228225 http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=228224 Here's a link to the ride on SportsTrackLive : http://www.sportstracklive.com/track...ng/424880/full |

I rode 27.6 mi today on the Schuylkill River Trail near Valley Forge, Pa. It was my longest ride this year. It was a great day for riding--low-to-mid 50's, sunny sky, with very little wind. There was only half as much "traffic" (i.e., walkers, joggers, skaters, and other cyclists) as is usual on the trail, so I was able to go faster for longer distances.
|
Rode about 12 miles south into a SSW wind (boo!) and then 12 miles back heading north (yay!). Highly unusual 60F sunny day. (Yay!)
|
11 mile recovery ride on the trainer tonight. Avg HR 117
