I signed up for Twitter's #30daysofbiking, which includes all kinds of riding -- that really resonates with me. I've done all kinds of cycling and advocate all kinds of cycling. So this is the most humbling, most freeing ride I've had in years. No helmet, no goal, no cares. Everything else is gravy.

I got in the usual afternoon ride before the PM thunderstorm could hit. North of our house was this huge black cloud bank heading south, managed to just barely beat the rain. Good, fast ride.

Wind and chill was just kicking my butt this morning. Only did 14 miles instead of 23 like usual. But, I don't feel to bad about it since this is the 6th consecutive day of riding.

Hoping to do a 45 mile ride today, before going to Illinois for a week, but Bill sent his hugh, black, cloud bank my way and I got rained out after the first 15 mile lap. Got home, wiped down the bike and had my PBJ that I took for the ride, looked out the window and no rain, blue skies and sun was out. Let's see if the wife wants to do a neighborhood ride when she gets back from the grocery store. I might have a chance to get some riding in tomorrow morning before we leave.

Thirty miles of constant, brutal headwinds. I think Bill sent those down this way with the rain from yesterday. Leaving for Illinois tomorrow for a week so no cycling until the 16th. Should be really rested by then.

50 miles on the road bike today. Temps were cool, about 35f to start, but a strong sun boosted the temps to 55f by 1PM.

I climbed 3 hills. I really enjoy the cycling here in NE Ohio. Now I just need to pick up the pace.

46 mostly flat mostly rural miles on a club ride today. Very pleasant temps with sun.

NealH and I rode the Tour de Lure out of Marion, NC. It was a spectacular day for a ride on a nice route. 71 miles and 5400' of climbing in 4:35 ride time. If you look at the elevation profile, the big climb was easy it was all the smaller, sharp steep hills that wore me out.

30 miles in beautiful spring weather, SportsTrackLive link here. It was very pleasant riding with minimal to no wind, smelling the wildflowers, freshly turned farm dirt, honeysuckle and wild onions (not so pleasant smelling the occasional cow poop, but I guess that 's life! :innocent:). I hope to get out again tomorrow afternoon, since we have no evening church services this Easter Sunday.

That's beautiful country. I still have fond memories of working summers at Ridgecrest (just east of Black Mountain) in the late 70's / early 80s.

I've almost never had any trouble from the much maligned truck-driving redneck, and I didn't have any today, either. I was stopped twice by guys in pick-ups asking me about my recumbent: how easy, are they fun, etc etc. some day I may be leading an entourage of bent riding rednecks through the countryside, probably shooting zombies.

57 miles R/T to to see my 4 y/o grandson play "soccer". Beautiful weather, not much wind and and a good average speed for us. the Tierra Bella is next weekend and we'll do the 100K on our tandem. The Century is too tough with one climb alone being 3000'.

105 miles, Sunny 84*, one flat

I did a great 100-mile ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway, going from where 501 cross at the James River, south to Vinton, near Roanoke, and back. Just a hair over 10000 feet of climbing. This includes the 13-mile ascent up Thunder Ridge, which goes from 700 ft to about 4000 ft. It was 37 degrees at the start, and got up to about 67 in the afternoon, so I was freezing for the first part of the ride, especially the downhill from the top of the climb into Peaks of Otter.

I did 36 mi today on the Schuylkill River Trail near Valley Forge, Pa. This was my first ride out-of-doors since January 1st. It was a glorius Spring day and would have been ideal for riding except for a stiff 16 mph wind out of the northwest, which made my return leg tough.

I've been riding hard indoors on the trainer this winter, and I really saw the improvement today.

25.75 tandem miles today. Cool, slightly windy, cloudy, nice!

Managed to get in 23 miles today after all the Easter celebrations and visits. I wasn't sure I was going to be able to. I need to get up early tomorrow to get the ride in as we're celebrating the wife's 50th with friends and family in the afternoon...tons of errands to do before the celebration.

Who says the unwashed can't celebrate religious holidays? Participated in the local club's Pedalmentalist Easter Service this afternoon: A 40 mile ride way out on the extreme north side of Indy. Did I mention that it was windy? Thankfully, there was a good bit of tailwind on the way in.

Man, am I jealous! :thumb: I love west Texas, but unfortunately I don't live there. However, I am headed out to Fort Davis for a week next Friday morning, Lord willin' and the crick don't rise. :) I plan on trying to make lunch at Pepito's Cafe in Fort Stockton on Saturday after overnighting in Menard.
