Got my regular 30 miles in at the MUP this morning. I quit timing my rides until the path dries out so that we don't have to walk across the footbridge to get around the flooding. Crossing the bridge can take about 8 to 10 minutes off my time, depending on how fast I walk and how many others are on the bridge. |
Rode between thunderstorms again this afternoon. Great ride with a mild 84*F temp, a little windy on the south legs.

Another great ride http://app.strava.com/rides/18600438 Broke the 30 mile barrier today with ease. That is if you don't count the WASP sting at 14mph??? In old days of TDF I think they used bee stings. Not me again by choice. Yes my speed went up - but that was to be sure I left any more far behind. My endurance/distance is increasing but avg. speed seems stuck around 13.5. Feels good!

23 miles with the WIFE, first time since she took a fall at work, (slipped in some oil), she got released from the workmans comp doctor yesterday so we went for bit of a ride, it was nice to have my riding partner back! Smokey, were getting smoke from all the fires out west of CO. and still HOT, suppose to hit 90 F today and it felt like it!

53 miles in 3 hours, 10 minutes. A headwind on the return trip was brutal. I'm taking a day off, tomorrow.

Got out late due to new gas line hookups in my neighborhood. Did 28 of the stickiest miles in a while having dropped 3 lbs after two bottles of liquid.

7 miles today, would have gotten more but students are moving back in, creating barriers of traffic jams.

40.4 miles this morning in 2 hours 13.5 minutes.
|
Got a good 30 mile ride in this morning. Played tag with another cyclist that kept us at 20+ mph for about 7 miles. I might get in a 45 mile ride if the wife doesn't go riding with me tomorrow.

20 mile work commute yesterday but, alas, looks like rain most of this evening. Maybe some bike maintenance.
|
Just a quick 4 mile ride to evaluate a derailleur adjust. All systems go.
|
Nice and cool out in the woods on the Mukluk for a couple of hours

43 miles today. Beautiful day, low 80's, no humidity and light winds

Well the usual thunderstorms we seem to be specializing in here were coming up mid-afternoon so I rushed into my kit and took off. right onto a lightning strike area. Cut this one short and hurried home (should have taken shelter I suppose but this isn't breaking until around 2000 tonight.) Rain started as I stepped in the door. Temps were in the mid-70's, been a cool summer here.

Just an 11 mile ride but it was with my 8 year old grandson who was riding my son's old mountain bike. One of the most enjoyable rides in a while.

I took my old Super Sport out for a 23 mile ride this morning.

25 miles with the wife, just bumming around the area for her, "STAYcation", the funds were to low to travel so we just ride a direction and do lunch! Today Subway's in Manitou Springs!

Yesterday I did a ride I have wanted to do for some time. I thought I was to old for hardcore singletrack but riding with TLC as someone here put it it works ! Drove to the nearest mountaineous area and parked the car at 450 feet. Biked on tarmac to abot 3000 and then rugged singletrack to 4500. Great weather and a great ride. Took a less good path back and had to carry the bike a lot but still a great experience. Nice meeting the raindeer as well.

Rode 38 miles Thursday. This month so far I have ridden 554 miles. I may be able to reach my goal of 1000 miles for August. :)

40.4 miles this morning.

Had a really good ride today, although it was another 30 miles at the MUP. Got to the parking lot at the end of my first lap and ran into some of the guys on my cycling team that had just got there. I did my last lap with the team in a group ride getting between 23 and 26 mph. The 23 mph was me pulling. Not too bad since I'm probably 30 years older than the next oldest guy of the group that was there today.

Perfect solo ride with great sunny weather in the 61 to 74f range. I had a light tailwind on my way back.
The new CX bike held a fast pace. 31 non-stop miles in a 1:41. About a 18.4mph average. |
Finally broke 8 miles at 30 minutes. Not bad considering back in April I was doing 6.5 in 30 minutes.
