54 miles on the tandem, after yesterday's 39 and a repair. Tried keeping up with sherbornpeddler on his single-speed Raleigh Pro. From Dover, MA into Rhode Island. Whooowee, uphill and down! Great fun!

45 miles on a club ride out by Lake Minnetonka. My longest previous ride this summer, since coming back from injuries, was 40 miles, so I told myself I would ride with the slower group. But it was too much fun to ride fast so I went with the faster group to the rest stop, telling myself I would do the return with the slower group. But it was too much fun to ride fast, so..... In truth, I sucked wheels virtually the entire ride and even then I almost got dropped, but it still felt good in the end.

Actually, at about 32 miles I did get dropped, but they stayed in view and then, a few miles later, they eased off and I caught up at a traffic light. So I finished the ride with the fast guys partly because they weren't in the mood to hammer all the way home and partly because of this:

Pardon me, youngster? Aren't you a bit young to be hanging out with us geezers? Or perhaps your name deceives?

Quick <10 mile tandem ride this morning - stoker had to work in the afternoon. Trying to incorporate local 'hills' into most of our rides to build strength for climbing real Hills.

Then, a late afternoon <10 mile ride by myself , again with a little 'hill'-climbing. Not sure how far I went because the computer's sensor unit battery crapped out at 5 miles. Fixed.

Did my fastest solo ride of the year by about 2/10ths mph average speed. 24 miles with moderate temperatures and winds helping out considerably. Light traffic on rural roads also meant that I could keep the focus on keeping the cadence up and the head down. :D

It was a great ride.

The Country Panty Store???? I always knew that the 'bent riders were a little strange but that's definitely kinky to say the least. I am almost afraid to ask about Little Debbie's cinnamon roll or why everything from the waist down hurts.

Go ahead. Ask.

Only 8.5 miles. The important thing is I got my wife to ride with me! Just a trip to the grocery store. She hardly complained at all! :roflmao2:

Nice easy 29 mile recovery ride. Kinda tough riding the weekends as we (my wife and I) both work a day shift Saturday then return for the overnight midnight shift Saturday night into Sunday morning. Got a few hours of sleep, then hit the bike around 2pm. Big fast group ride tomorrow evening, unless I don't get the front door painted in time!

No, I definitely belong here.
Don't mean to deliberately deceive, more of a context issue.
20something is related to my golf handicap not my age.
Sad but true.

14 this morning with a bit of a headwind for the first half, brought my average speed down to 13.8 mph. :(

Bikey Mikey 08-27-12 07:37 AM

40.7 miles this morning.

Waiting to see what Isaac is going to do, but so far he's been pretty tame. Rain, with very little wind, this morning when I woke up but it stopped about an hour ago. Never know when these feeder bands are going to start dumping rain on your parade. I might get out and do a neighborhood ride if it stays this way.

Rode Adams Gulch today. No one got hurt too badly

Put in 27 sticky miles but was cut short when I broke the same rear spoke that was just fixed about 100 miles ago. Thankfully not far from my LBS who did not have any Shimano spokes but trued the wheel well enough to ride the 10 miles home. Humidity was brutal with rain coming in this afternoon.

30 miles on a seasonal late August day. Sunny, with 75 to 88f temps helped it feel like summer, while some autumn debris was seen on the forest preserve bike path. The first half was done at an easier pace, while the last third saw faster speeds.

25 miles on a "dinner ride" with the Colorado Springs Cycling Club, first time I've done the Monday dinner ride and it turned out to be a good group and a nice late summer ride with a visit to a new Mexican resturant, good food and nice but dark ride home! :)

1200' climb on my mtb this afternoon during my daughter's gymnastics practice.

Bikey Mikey 08-28-12 05:41 AM

40.2 miles early this AM(started at 04:40).

dalameda 08-28-12 09:40 AM

Was on vacation in San Diego over the weekend, and took advantage of the opportunity to ride Bike the Bay. Highlights were riding over the Coronado Bridge, and cycling out of the starting area alongside Bill Walton.

ctpres 08-28-12 11:34 AM

35 miles and had Isaac for company. Extra hard ride out but on return wheeeeee. Trip average about normal.

John_V 08-28-12 12:53 PM

I wasn't going to ride this morning because it wasn't looking very nice outside. Some lingering rain bands from Isaac that are still hanging around. I looked out the window, around 9:30 AM, and the skies were blue, sun was out and the temperature was 79º. I changed into my riding duds and went to the MUP which, as I expected, is still flooded at certain areas. First lap was great and at my normal pace until I ran into my niece, on her mountain, bike and rode with her for around 8 miles back to the parking lot. Since the first lap was 19 miles, I was expecting to get a good 38 mile ride in today, but Isaac had other plans. About three miles into my second lap he opened the sky and dumped this massive amount of water on me. Made it back to the parking lot and to blue skies, bright sun and a 26 mile ride. It was much better than no ride at all.

look566 rider 08-28-12 05:55 PM

Yes I did. 30 miles with tmy son. 6 miles with my wife to dinner, library and Dairy Queen.
