Really cold this morning—30º—had a friend cancel so didn't ride until 2:30pm. Cloudy, extra cool, short ride on the Sirrus 12.5mi @15mph (peaked @18mph). Comfortable bike (rather large frame design).

Did a "daehlluB ed rouT eL" this morning, looks like nothing for the next two days as our usual windfest happens. . . .

First solo ride this week. Got in a nice 35 mile ride with some decent intervals to get myself back to where I was at before all those slow rides I've been doing.
|
Well, to answer the question, yes I did ride today. Every day since Monday. The usual commute. Much of the rides home involved riding in the dark, but good lights make all the difference. It's getting colder too, but fleece and SmartWool socks make all the difference, just like x-c skiing. So this week was another 150 miles just commuting.
I was hoping to do a Birthday Ride this weekend (on my birthday coming up our band has a gig), but I got asked to some sound reinforcement. So the ride will have to wait. In any case, this weekend's weather is supposed to be terrible for riding. |
Needed to get out of the house this afternoon, rode 20.5 miles just to pedal and get some fresh air. I came home from our office early this morning feeling sluggish from this cold and vegged out for a while. Then I needed to move and let the blood circulate. Glad that I did.

Hill repeats! I've never really done them before. I did a set of 5 on a 1.25 mile hill that included a little of everything: 4-5% easy spins, 7-8% grinders, and a couple of 16-17% kickers to get the heart beating. All within 3 miles of home. I've never been able to motivate myself to do intervals, but this is a nice way to get some of the effect indirectly.

Did a very windy 30 miles this morning. We had our regular 45 mile ride scheduled but the wind gusts were getting well over 30 mph. Didn't mind the headwinds all that much but the crosswinds almost knocked my 150 lb. body off the bike on several occasions. We all decided that it was just getting too dangerous to keep on going.

My first ride on my new bike. Very cool for GA. Was very pleased with the 3 mile ride on a great paved trail.
Knee feels pretty good. excited |
21 mile tandem ride this afternoon. Sunny but 40's and windy. First ride on the Screamer in 3 weeks - since discovering cracked/bulging front rim and having the wheel rebuilt with a new rim.

Knee feels pretty good. excited 16mi today @15mph on the Allez. Rain & wind yesterday, couldn't ride. Felt good to be back in the saddle, even after only one day. This 68 year old body (69 in 2 months) needs that daily ride. http://pedalmybike.com/userTrackies/myTrackie4957.jpg |

10 miles this afternoon on the long wheelbase 'bent. Cooler than it should be be not bad. Sun has shone most of the day.

Somebody up north left a door open overnight. Got up this morning and it was in the low 40s. Had to wait a few hours for it to get to a comfortable riding temperature before the wife would venture outdoors. :D Did a nice 44 mile ride this morning with my buddies Lou and Frank. Wind wasn't as bad as it was yesterday but between the cold weather and the wind, my sinuses went nuts and I just had a terrible time trying to breathe during the ride. For the first time this year, I was just worn out. Then I had to go to my daughters house and have my son-in-law help me replace the brakes in the pickup. I just can't stay in those bent over and squatting positions for very long anymore.

Short 30miles but a great ride!! Followed my daughter running her first marathon. I was okay while they ran on the streets but then they went onto a Greenway for 10 miles. I had to do some hard sprints to catch her where the roads crossed the Greenways on that section.

Got in a nice 25.06 mile ride early this afternoon, beautiful sunny day here. A bit chilly and a north wind to keep me working, nothing to whine about, though. It was shocking to have a frost this early in the year, it was 32°F when we left for church this morning, at 7:30 AM. Humidity was a muggy 25%:innocent: most of the day:thumb:.

Agree that you can't just throw in '...new bike...' without some details. Pictures are nice, too.

20 miles in my recurring role as a Bike Commuter today.
|
Started out today with ~50°F temperature and intermittent sun. Got about 10 miles out and it started to rain, so I decided to cut it short. Drizzled the whole way back but nothing too serious. At least I got 20 miles in today...
|
I was going to ride my commute this morning but wimped out. I was waaaay too desausted from this weekend. I'll ride tomorrow though.

50 miles
I rode 50 miles for the first time today. It took me almost 3 and ½ hours but it was a lot of fun!
