Made it back out to join group #2 for the day, the Tuesday 6PM ride down Manasota Key. All things said and done I finished with 121 miles today.

15 miles Tuesday evening. Kinda sticky for the 80s. Felt like I was loafing but still seemed to be averaging 12 mph.

Beautiful day here near Dulles (airport) Va. If your a cyclist in this area you HAVE to know the W and OD trail.

Started the day by doing a 15 mile run this morning on my new Conti GP 4000 sII's which are amazing. Followed that up this evening with a nice 8 mile ride with my niece (she on her new Motobecane Grand Record she got for her 13th birthday a month ago). Oh and she had her first fall off her new bike (when she slowed down to grab some honey-suckle) and fortunately no road rash or damage to the bike. I told her you can heal but the bike can't. Do you think it's wrong to think like that? lol

All in all a terrific day. Oh and me recovering from an ankle fusion...a little gimpy but no worse for the wear

Perfect, amazing morning in Central PA to ride. Bummer I have to stop to go to work...:(

Very nice weather with low humidity, but lots of wind, this morning. A perfect day for a 50 mile ride with my buddy, Steve.

WEdnesday - yet another Bike to Work Day. 21 miles in warm, dry weather. (Today is Drive to Work Day - chances of rain) May get out and ride this evening if weather cooperates.

Sunny and lite wind. 21.5 on the Roubaix. Now I'm off to Sierra Cycles to see if they can repair the broken rivet in the front derailleur hanger. I've been securing it with a zip tie.

2016: 1,644 Miles Total Miles: 11,242

FINALLY...

I got my old C&V '85 Fuji out and went for a quick 7.5 mile ride to the park after dinner. I don't know about your areas, but here in Virginia, we've had rain and rain and rain and yet even more rain the last few weeks. :(

Yep, drove home from work and then got out for an 11-mile ride.

As usual I rode to and from work, 16 miles each way. Today was Motobecane day...

Rode to the river and back this morning. Beautiful morning, no obstacles, didn't need the bell once. Great way to begin this day. 13.+ miles.

A nice 36 miles with one of my HCFR teammates. He couldn't do the MS this past weekend so it was nice to get to ride with him today.

OldTryGuy 05-26-16 12:01 PM

Today's daily riding started at 3:30AM with a quick bicycle ride to the 24hr Walmart for eggs and O'Doule's alcohol free beer. I enjoy an ICED O'Doule's with fresh sliced lemon after a hard ride. So then I headed out at 6:45AM for a different club ride. 25 miles of riding to the start, then a 25 mile loop to the gas station stop, then headed home in a round about way for another 28 miles. 78 total but not the kind of riding I enjoy so it was a one and done ride.

JanMM 05-26-16 07:42 PM

19 miles to and from work today. Rained while I was in my windowless office but nicely dry on the way home.
As with every other bike commute since late 2008, rode my RANS V-Rex.

canklecat 05-26-16 08:54 PM

Rode 11 miles Thursday evening before the t-storms rolled in. Felt sluggish, was sluggish -- about 10.5 mph rather than my usual 12 mph -- but still beats not bicycling.

clubber 05-27-16 01:22 AM

Did 20 miles Thursday morning and really struggled to make the last mile. Just getting back from an ankle fusion so I'm very cautious as to my pace not wanting to do too much too soon. I'm still very pleased with what I have done in the past few weeks now and I am bound and determined to work back up to the pace an total mileage I was accomplishing 2 years ago before crushing my leg.

No doubt in my mind! Thx but don't feel sorry for me. We fall, get up, brush ourselves of and keep moving forward. There are many thousands of men and women who have honorably and faithfully given their lives to serve and protect myself and millions of Americans. Please take some time over this holiday weekend to either feel for or pray for them and their families. Too often the true meaning of Memorial Day easily gets over-looked by all of the bar-b-que's and pool openings going down.

Never really felt "it" today. Woke up groggy and not motivated. That changed a little when I walked the dogs, which woke me up to the point that riding seemed like a good idea after all. But, the ride was harder than usual.

It felt like the wind was in always my face, but every time I glanced up at a flag, it just hung straight down. I know what riding in no wind feels like, and this was not it. Anyway, I made it. And, my time was pretty much dead-on my average.

...oops, wrong sub-forum.

Agreed! +1

Did my usual loop this morn and am noticing the ridges are morphing into hills and the hills are NBD!

I dialed it back a bit and did just a 12 miler this morning. It's going to take me a little while (maybe another week) until I can finish strong without creeping the last mile home (being an ascension most of the way home .)

Wow, how did I miss this one? Great photograph! If sunset looked like that here I would ride that same 20 miles every day. :thumb:
