Cool! What will it's main use be?

If there were a poll attached to this thread, I would vote: "Bike Friday can do no wrong and I welcome this new development."
I don't see it as a replacement for a folding bike that I would take anywhere with me, as they seem to be marketing it, but it looks like the kind of packable bike that will suit the needs of many
My experience with the Birdy is the opposite -- was great for bike-bus-bike commute; less suited to fit in luggage for cross-country air travel. I don't see this BF model going with me on a daily commute which includes tossing it in the luggage compartment of a bus or overhead in a train rack, but it looks perfect for packing to fly.
I wonder if it packs small enough to qualify as carry-on...?

Riding at high speed so the air flow can cool him down
Edit:
SW, do not let us bully you. I bet you are hot yourself too. Order the bike and go there to pick it up in person. Then you can ask Hanna if she can show you how to adjust the tension (on the bike). She looks like a nice person.

The light weight and quick packing will be great for trips, IMO.

I have a hard time imagining it as a commuter too. I think the longest dimension for airlines' overhead luggage is 56 cm. From memory, the head and seat tubes look parallel such that the monotube is probably something like 56 cm on a medium. The rear wheel goes past the head tube when folded so I think we can conclude that, technically, it will be too long.

regarding this bike's usefulness as a commuter, during off peak (not rush hour) times i often board trains with only the rear swing arm folded on the brompton and even the llama is no problem in that configuration. i see this new bike functioning in a similar way. it would be a comparatively rare circumstance in which i would feel the need to completely fold and bag this bike. getting on a bus would be one and rush hour on the subway would be the other - two situations i try assiduously to avoid anyway.
if you're planning on doing loaded touring or some other hardcore adventure traveling nothing is better suited to that than the pocket llama. however, the llama could be considered overkill for a three day business trip to tokyo, visiting abu mahendra's palatial compound in bali, or simply observing the collapse of western civilization in real time via a eurail pass. i think light travel is where this bike will really find it's niche.

I'm thinking maybe pull the seatpost up a bit; grab on the saddle and roll on the front wheel?
Looks like the target audience aren't commuters, travelers/tourists more likely.
BFold of NYC told me they have one on the way; will let me know when it comes so I can try/inspect.

From the photos--it doesn't look like it rolls while folded?
So I'd say No., but you can Jury rig something to yours if you buy one.

Awesome--this is why I love this forum. I think I need to visit my NYC friends pretty soon. I was there in June but hadn't started my folder search. I want to try the Tyrell Ive which is purportedly carried by Propel Bikes though when I called--they didn't know much about it...

That backpack looks hideous but I'm still excited about the bike. It looks like you're carrying a mini-mattress. I wonder if a third party foldable duffle bag would work.
Is anyone going to do the Kickstarter bit?
Just saw the estimated retail prices...small bike, big $$ purchase.

Looks to be the case, yes. If you want it to be under 15 pounds, it's single speed. If, however, you're OK with more weight there are gearing options. But once you decide to go with gears, you're adding about 5 pounds minimum. Perhaps if they decide to do a derailleur version the weight jump won't be so large.
