Drop bar Brompton

Not too sure why I've seen so many Brompton things today ...

Despite the May 2012 timestamp, I have not seen this on the forum and it looked pretty cool. Particularly since people mention the quick release-Aberhallo stem modification every now and then. If this is old news, then my apologies.

P bar /stem setup was to Give the Up/Down drop bar function , without making the Fold Wider.

but Modifiers of Bromptons are as world wide as the bike sales.

really dont think drop bar is the way to go look at the folding width increase (at 21 secounds). I think bullbars better. its now looks wider folded than my bullbar equiped Mezzo, can not see the point of a folded bike mod which makes it twice as bike, justbuy anaimal 24" folder imo

Nice video, looks like almost the drop bar could have been bent further inward to limit lateral protusion, with the drop ends almost being wide enough to fit over a the iso 349 tyre.

But like a few of those other fancy upgrades, what are drop bars really going to do on that bike.

Interesting. The bike doesn't fit anywhere for traveling without disassemble, but very nice anyways.

yes its cool. obviously, if you are setting your brompton up the way that is depicted in the video, compact folding is not of paramount concern for the rider.

Latest efforts.
Bull bars with Dahon andres stem mock up. Picture two shows fold just as compact,............ potentially.
Photo shows old drop bars turned upside down, intend to cut down in to bull bars and add road racing levers (plus longer cables). like mezzo pictured Leaving striaght bars on so bike is still usable for moment.
I am considering just going for a 45 cm wide TT bar without the Dahon stem. But this might be too low
For the moment I am trying these bars 43cm width , 25.4 stem over around 11 cm clamping area. Around 9cm is need for clamp area

Issues
1) If I can find a wider bar , around 2cm minium bigger 45 it will clear either side of the wheel. I might not need the andros stem then ,but might be too low. Change stem to longer as Fietsbob suggest ?? (I dont like paying out proper prices like £120 for new stem!! Mind you the dahon stem was around £55)
2) not sure about brake levers clearence, need to get some to try it.
3) this is a five speed bike could I use Brifters ?? else nount on bar ends ??
Just realise I posted this on the wrong thread !!!!!!!!!!!
Oh well..............
