Nice to see you back on the bike; I know it's been a while since you last logged on. I was beginning to think you had hung your bike up for good. ;).
I'm still praying for 50 degree days here so I can go riding without bundling up too much. Also there has been too much wind here lately (steady @ 15mph with gusts to 25). I tried to go out the other day and kept getting pushed around by the winds so I called it a day early and went back home. Oh and I'm really out of shape! Yuk!! _________________________________________________________________________________________ SinGate's work account... |
Have been gone two+ weeks on vacation with no riding. Managed to pull my back out pretty good, and am still in a bit in pain. Hoping to ride today after work.
I think you will find that Chris L's miles are all since January 1, 2004. He is fortunate in being able to ride instantaneously at an infinite speed, hence he does not have to post times. Average speed is also infinitely high! |
Hee hee hee, Chris L's a wormhole rider.

how do you do it? how many hours a day do you ride? how fast? (you already answered it) I'll be doing a century next week(my first century of the year), hoping to catch up with you guys.. :) heatwave? the weatherman on TV said the heatwave drove away the rains for the past few weeks.. It hasn't rained in.... I can't remember when it last rained, OMG!!!! :D |
Um, shut up Clint! ;)

When we got that dumping of rain and the 130km/h winds that went with it -- that was the best riding conditions I've had since Tasmania. |
Clint, you might check the formula for AVS. I checked mine today and it had added a good .2 mph. My speedo showed 16.5 while Ab.org showed 16.7. Chcked on a calculator and speedo was right.
PS Everyone, I corrected my little "April 1" typo :D |

I meet up with a friend for a ride each Tuesday -- riding to and from the start of course -- another 50-60km. And that's before the weekend. Actually my last few weekends have been a little slack (almost a month since my last century), but I intend to rectify that in the near future.
That wouldn't necessarily be considered a good thing around here. Put it this way -- three of my five centuries in 2004 have been in temperatures that exceeded 40 Degrees C. When it's like that, I look to the sky praying for rain. When we got that dumping of rain and the 130km/h winds that went with it -- that was the best riding conditions I've had since Tasmania. They were right.... You are a cycling GOD!! :) I wish you cooler weather, and tailwinds.... :) |

Yes, a full body massage after a long ride is feels outstandingly good .. ;) Getting a massage from a woman?? my muscles usually require more pressure, women are strong, but I prefer a man would do the massage... :D |

I've had massages from little, tiny women that brought tears to my eyes, and a plea for them to be more gentle. My daughter just had a "sports massage" from a guy at a day spa that talked constantly and barely touched the surface. So..it's like going to the doctor's office and when they ask how much pain you are suffering on a scale of 1-10. If they are not doing a good job, you have to say go deeper, and if they are killing you, you must beg for them to taper off a tad. Not really a man/women issue. But, if I could get two men, well...I'd just have to settle.

Just joined up, and no records, so I'm down at the bottom of the pile.

Welcome Siggy...
A new series starts every 3 months if that makes it feel better. -Clint

Siggy Miles just fly by.. enjoy your rides :) |
Awww, what the heck!
I been posting times and average speeds thus far, simply because I didn't record them in Tasmania the earlier part of the year. I'm now thinking I'd like to start. Just a question, how is the average speed on activebody calculated? Say I record 50 minutes for today's commute. Will the annual total average speed reflect only the distance I rode in those 50 minutes, or will it try to divide the 6,000-odd km for the year by those 50 minutes? I guess what I'm asking is, could I start recording average speeds now, and still have an accurate calculation on the website? |
