Put some slicks on my vintage MTB making it a hybrid
Fitted with Michelin Advanced Wild Run'r 1.1 folding tyres only 200grams each.
Also have the same tyre in 1.4 size providing more comfort.
I love old brochures this ones pretty cool, lower end model to mine though.

jbchybridrider, I did a similar tire change to my bike, went from 42c (I think) slick/knobby tires, that were filled to about 50psi to these 28c Nimbus tires. I love these new tires and the bike really rolls nice now, but I sure feel every single bump in the road now. I got these filled to about 90psi. So its definitely a trade off on how the ride feels, bit I'm keeping the Nimbus tires on for now. Nice bike you have. How do you like the way your bike rides with those new tires?

You'll get use to them, at least you've got front suspension my other hybrid has 23mm tyres and no suspension and I can live with it.
Tyres are always a trade off, the great thing is tyres are probably the most easy thing to change to make the biggest change in feel and performance to our bikes.
I think I've actually developed a tyre fetish I,ve got so many I could almost start a tyre shop "not really" but I can change them for any kind of terrain or conditions.
I also find it interesting to note differences and advantages between them.

I like that Giant Seek, they had one at the local LBS here, but was a little out of my price range... I wonder how that bike compares to the Cannondale Bad Boy, they look similar, if nothing else...

Tire fetish... sounds like a rubber fetish to me... Yeah I highly doubt the 45c tires will end up going back on my Crosstrail, unless I get another bike, which would definitely be more road oriented, then Ill put more off road knobbies back on my current bike for different riding.

With you on the disc brakes btw. I don't think I'll ever go without them. Disc brakes rock...

My Giant Seek 1 is a Large, which is supposed to be for people between 5'11" to 6' 2". I'm 6' and had to raise the seat to that point. The pictures may be a bit deceiving due to their angles but it is considered an upright bike. Thanks for the compliment! I'd like to drop the weight a bit if possible. Without the lock and lights it comes in at 27 lbs. The disc brakes add a few lbs., but as I said, are great! I'm hoping I can reduce it by a few pounds and lighten it up. The NYC Kryptonite lock weighs over 3 lbs. so I probably won't use it much. The Seek is the exact same weight as my 1977 Peugeot PX10LE!

11 miles today, 50 degrees. Not a bad ride, but I prefer 90 degrees.

A couple more pics from the West Orange Trail last weekend. Did 33 mile from the Trailhead in Old Winter Garden to Clermont and Lake Minneola then back. It was a bit chilly in the AM which was nice but later it warmed up and had to take my sweater off with no place to store it. Bought a Topeak rear rack for the next time. That part of the West Orange Trail is, so far, my favorite ride in the Orlando area.

Finally got the Raleigh setup the way I want it. Skinny-slick tires, MKS Sylvan Touring Pedals, Selle Strike TRK saddle, and the Lightweights on the spokes really shine.

I think I posted pics when I first joined, but was feeling inspired to post the current rendition of my homebuilt "hybrid", even though I think of it more as a flat bar road bike.. no sub-forum for them yet
