Read the first sentence. Decided not to read the rest.
He was banned because he had multiple infractions and one super inflammatory post set it over the top. I'm not saying he should have been banned. I'm just rationalizing what the mods did. I don't like one bit what the mods did, but I don't believe they were in the wrong. |
Also, how long was a 5 in his name? I've always thought it was qmsdc1.

Political correctness is taking over the American Constitution, which proclaims the freedom of speach... I have one interesting fact - there was a swedish childrens books author - Astrid Lindgren and she wrote over 70 books and one of them "Karlsson on the roof" " Karlsson is a very short, very portly and overconfident man who lives on the roof of a very ordinary apartment building, on a very ordinary street in Stockholm. When Karlsson pushes a button on his stomach it starts a clever little motor with a propeller on his back allowing him to fly. Karlsson is the best at everything, at least according to himself. But there is, in fact, one thing at which he excels: being a playmate to a young boy named Lillebror (little brother) who lives in this house with his family.... " This book is banned in USA ( banned in many libraries, not recomennded for private reading, because, Karlsson was suspecting inculcating "subversive views on babysitters." It is in the country where thousands of new violent computer games released every year, propaganding the war with other countries and nations... Am I far away from what happenned here ..Actually not - it is called double standards, and on one hand the messages like this can go unnoticed "Bent over Vladimir Putin and valslava" - it is OK, because it is somebody's else's president... but you can't even mention the word black in almost innocent joke... Sad. |

It is unfortunate with someone who had so much to offer. He certainly drove me away after I put so much effort into this forum. I have been gone about a year now & it is nice to see that the Hybrid forum did seem to thrive.

You are kidding... Let's say you (not You, of course)...someone invited to his house many differnet people, they are all your friends or you just like them, but they form different background, they are differs in political or religious believe, they have different temper and the ability to handle the dicsussion. But they all good people in general. And during the evening some topic was raised and some of the people became emotional. (not violent, not rude, but just too straight)... What would you do? Throw them from your house and do not let them back again? Of course not. Because in real life you have to be diplomatic and you can't expect from people to have teh same view on everything.. But virtual world is different. This is the place for some to express the power, not a big one, but being enough to say to someone - "you are no longer welcome here.." |

guys, I dont want to be a wannebee moderator, but this thread should be about bicycle related pics. Politicians on bike? Why not! I´ll throw in a political pic. |
No problem it is your thread, I thought it was funny, not even my political view, I like guns to much. I'll remove it for you.

+1 since I´m swedish and grew up, like many other generations, with Astrid Lindgren (Pippi Longstocking amongst others) I gasp to the sad fact that she´s banned in the US. What kind of thing you have going on over there? And if qmsdc15 is banned, thats just crazy. I never saw it coming.

She's not banned in the United States. No books are banned in the United States. Some school systems don't allow some books in their school library, but that's a local thing. You can always find some kookie local school system that bans something crazy, but that's a far cry from a national book ban. I read Pippi Longstocking with my kids.

One of her books was banned and I did not say it was Peppi. If some public municipal or state libraries or schools ban some material (and not by mistake or just "we did not hear about this book" but FOR ACTUAL REASON) we can say - it was banned in US (where else...in bangladesh?), especially knowing - they are government financed institutions. http://thebikeshow.net/wp-content/up...4/sarkozy.jpeg http://thebikeshow.net/wp-content/up...-with-bike.jpghttp://www.thedailyrash.com/wp-conte...sachusetts.jpg http://img.ezinemark.com/imagemanage...-39-13-1-.jpeg |

I don't want to let this go, because it is not accurate, but I don't want to pollute this thread with politics. I intended to start a thread in P&R called Astrid Lindgren and post a link here, but I was unable to (software wouldn't let me start a thread). Can a mod help us out? |
Obama and Bush.
|
Hmm, I can't say I've frequented these forums enough to judge whether the accumulation of qmsdc15's past behaviour warrants a ban, but I have to say that it's sad to lose a poster that was clearly very knowledgeable and a frequent contributor to the hybrid forums. Having said that, the other thread did get rather heated which seemed a little out of character for the hybrid forum.

If you need to read someone besides me on this matter please google it and you will be able to find some other opinions: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000...113199926.html Just to wrap it up - if something happening in US offical institution (public library, school, department of correction, board of health or anything similar) it means to me it is happening in US, not in some backyard of someones private house or restricted swinger club or mason lodge... |
