despite some mishaps (flat tire, banged up derailer, broken tooth on a sprocket and a mis-aligned wheel, etc.) it was a good ride today

Rode Wampatuck State Park last night, the rocky side, crossed over into Whitney Woods, got lost on some hiking trails, my buddy snapped a hanger (luckily he had a replacement). Found our way back ok. Nice ride, other than smashing my knee on rock. Cold beer after - mmmm.

I'm boudda do me some a dem durt jumpers. Just ordered a full face helmet so I don't kill myself! QBP was out of them, and I actually found a deal online, so it will cost less including shipping than had I gotten it direct.

Has anyone brought their mountain bike up Mount Lemon in Tucson Arizona? Not only is the terrain challenging and unexpected but the views of the city and desert from the top make it one of my favorite rides!

Highly suggested for any one in or thinking of visiting Arizona

Weekly Saturday Ride Planned for Central Park, Cumming

We have a total of 8 riders for an early morning trail ride at Central Park, Cumming, GA. Last week at Big Creek, Roswell, GA was great. Learned alot an plan to pick up a Camelbak hydration pack tonight so I'm ready for my ride. Still investigating clip-on shoes and peddles. Also need to decide on a trail for 10/17, though I might be out of town that weekend (bummer)....we'll see...

so cold lately. Wool sweater on the downhill and numb hands kind of cold. looks like it's almost time to start running instead of biking.

They're called Red Efts...they are actually a kind of spotted newt. Also, let me take the opportunity to say that I love your contributions to this thread, scrublover. Although I could be a little biased based on the fact that I ride many of those same trails...

Recognize a few features, eh? You over by Hartford? I'm out of Danbury.

Spent my day after work doing some riding in my immediate area.

Got out for only an hour today. Was fun though. Saw the dirt jumps, rolled over them. Then my friend got a call from his dad telling him to come home. He got a court date for going 50 in a 25 on the way to get me :notamused:

65 miles on the road in the rolling hills of southern Indiana, not sure there's a flat spot on the entire ride. I think I touched my nose on the front tire on 2 of the climbs.

I really think I have swine flu. I have several of the symptoms. And I biked like this. That was a mistake. /pass out

Yak -- That's my ride

I ride Wampatuck and Whitney all the time. Usually make a big loop around the Park, starting at the main entrance and following the perimeter around to the right towards Prospect Hill, through South Field and then take roads over to Whitney. If I'm still feeling ambitious, I go up Turkey Hill and then home.

It's beautiful out there this time of year.

Central Park (Georgia) Mountain Bike Trail 10-10-2009

We ended up with 6 riders and it did not rain. There were a few puddles from some light rain the day prior. The trail was not as technical as Big Creek Park, but alot of fun. Looks like more heavy rain for Northern Georgia this week and we'll need to look to the weekend of 10/24 for the next ride. Trying to decide where to go....any thoughts??? Check out the blog BLOGMYMOUNTAINBIKE

Im jonesin for a nice ride. I wish the trails stayed open when it rains. Texas is so wonderful for shutting the trails down until they completely dry out and it has been raining here in DFW for what seems like a month!! Ive done a bit of urban riding in the rain to test out the GF and get a bit of a feel for her.

Three hours before work tonight. Just a nice spin around some close to home stuff.

Rain Rain Go Away

Same here in Georgia, lots of rain.... I'll be out of town this weekend, so I'm hoping that 10/24 will be dry. Trying to decide on a location for that ride. Check us out at blogmymountainbike.com

today i rode down to the LBS on the new bike to get some air for the fork since it is WAY too squishy. like half of my travel is from sag haha. Anyways, i got there and they had closed so i turn around and come home on my way i jump off a curb, take a few pedals and BAM broke the SRAM chain. I dont have a chain tool so not a very good maiden voyage for the bike. :(

It's 36F and sleeting lightly? Time for a ride, and to shoot some crappy video!

Warning: choppy, angled too low, and has no other rider to lend perspective - all stuff I plan to change next time screwing around with things. My old P&S taped to the helmet.
