nice dminor, I'm looking into a 1979 Bronco.
6'' lift, 35'' tires. dual glasspacks, and atleast a 351. Saw one I was looking at with a 400 something or nother.

lol, I was doing what you were doing Ca7, but with my 2003 Ford Expedition, FX4 XLT. Glad we have it over here, road conditions are terrible, certian parts of the base are shutting down because of it... But I don't have to many issues, even going up in the hills to see friends... the car on the other hand... ha..ha..hhahaa..... slid into a curb on a traffic circle lol.

Xmas presents to myself came in, Got a pair of oakley and Fox riding shorts, several innertubes, 5 sets of PFTE Coated cables (they're black) both shifter and brake. (they didn't give me the housings.. grrr) cable/housing cutter, casset removal tool, bike protection stuff, leg warmers, headband earwarmer thing, rear shock boot (very slushy and nasty out)... its just too big, Ill have to tailor it somehow, and picked up a chainwhip.

Ouch man,

Heal up quick.

mzeffex 01-09-10 11:49 PM

Thanks,

It started hurting later. Doctor said I can ride road, just not mountain for a couple weeks, so not the end of the world.

mzeffex 01-12-10 07:52 PM

mzeffex 01-12-10 08:02 PM

I am excited.

mzeffex 01-12-10 10:41 PM

Dude. It's cracked. My brand new Dura Ace crankset is cracked. I bought it used so I'm SOL. I went from really happy to depressed as hell.

Dannihilator 01-12-10 10:54 PM

Where's the crack?

Luke52 01-12-10 11:47 PM

Got some new SLX brakes coming my way on Sunday.

So the SLXs will replace the 486's on the HT, and the 486's will replace the old Hayes Nines on the NRS.

EVERYBODY WINS!

mzeffex 01-13-10 06:26 AM

False alarm. It's a forging mark thing. Seller sent me photos of his others.

-_RebelRidin'_- 01-13-10 10:56 AM

Ordered 50 feet both brake and shifter housing, cable end caps, and housing ends, along with some kool stop brake pads for the Trek.
yay, another 70 dollars down.

mzeffex 01-13-10 07:39 PM

That's a lotta housing!

Daspydyr 01-13-10 10:16 PM

I ordered Velociraptors, front and rear,$29.95 for the pair and some Kool Stops for $11.50. Blue Sky, its a new name to me.

mzeffex 01-16-10 08:28 AM

When installing my dura ace crank on my [carbon] road bike, when I broke the chain the derailleur flew up and the chain hit the seat stay. Took a nice chunk out of it. Scared the balls out of me.. but a few people looked at it and said its okay. The quarter test agrees.

Mechanical success again!
My friends diamondback that was given to him as a gift was in a state of neglect. Chain was caked in crud, cassettes cluttered with anything and everything, the cables were smashed, frayed, and sticking really bad, disk brakes were like butter on glass, and really stiff.

Bike came into the my garage at 2 pm, and left at 8 pm. Hooked him up with new cables, cleaned and trimmed up his mis-matched housing, removed the cassette, crank, and chain soaked, scrubbed, and lubed everything. re adjusted everything, taught him some basic bike maintenance along the way and now my riding partner has a functional bike.

I feel accomplished, LOL...
Now if I could just rebuilt my trek, and get that wheel right......

That reminds me of the guy who came in because his brakes squeaked. He had butter all over his rims, which stopped the squeaking. And his brakes from working.

I need to order some new brake pads for my Fischer Ive put in a ton of miles since buying this thing a few months back and a lot of down hill rock gardens which Im sure helped wear the pads down this quick. Im thinking I should get some new tires while Im at it because mine slide around in the sandy crap and dont do well in the many creek crossings I go through.

He actually put butter on his brakes?!?!?!
omg....
some people...

Went out for a slushy, icy, wet, snowy all around sucky condition ride today.
Friends bike worked without a hitch. I'm happy.
