I can haul three bikes and three people in the wifes jeep. We still need to haul a couple more though cause Rick would probably love to come too?

I am looking to get a new mountain bike for downhill/freeride; looking for under 1300 $. Any suggestions? No brand preferences.

He would actually prefer a Friday afternoon I'll bet ya. He's been doing alot of construction down there and has been wanting to ride after work all summer. Honestly...you've seen him more than I have this summer. (that's sad, man...really, really sad)

Mmmmkay...how bout tomorrow? Joe wants to go too. I'm on call, so I'm roped to the mansion again. (sorry) 'Twould give the Jeeper a good place to buss out the Shad-o-hoochie though. (did I just type that?)

(I would facilitate it, but I can't really ask a new guy to meet me somewhere if I'm gonna have to bail at the last moment. Sun afternoons are usually not too busy though.)

Maybe you should PM him?

Today's trivia bit: Did you know that a dragon fly is faster than most mountain bikes? They can fly up to 35 mph.

Did you know that being broadsided by a Dragon fly when riding kinda stings?

Ergh....

Was at work today, and one of the Recreation Aids (folks at the front desk) came into our first aid room (i'm a lifeguard) saying he feels really sick, complaining of joint pains and headache and stomach upset. I know the kid so I jokingly said.. "Dude, you got Swine Flu."

Well come to find out... One of our employees had swine flu, and this select person was hanging around him at the time...

Now not only the black mold inside the pool is trying to kill us.... Swine flu has found its way inside...
I'm hoping that since I spend so much of my time soaked in Chrlorine, and Chlorox Bleach and Mr. Clean floor cleaner and other powerfull cleaners like that that I come into conact with daily will help..... but they are Antibacterial... not antivirus lol

.....

Yay!

Ugh, I hate dragonflies. They're all over the place at one of the spots where I ride. I get smacked by those things all the time. Once one got momentarily trapped in the chinstrap of my helmet. It was buzzing around against my neck and I just about crashed before the stupid thing flew off.

It's just a matter of time before one of them flies into my mouth, and then I think I'll have to find a new hobby.

We spent the weekend at Hawksnest ski resort for the Dirty bird DH race. I see nothing much has changed here at "the noob palace". It was a great weekend,I had no idea how freakin' fast the girlscout has gotten until I watched him race this weekend. He was killing this rythym section with a big kicker at the end.The Jr class was loaded with smoking fast kids and he was somewhere in the 3rd to 5th range. It started rainng buckets about 30 min. before his race run. He tried to pin it in the slop and had one of the biggest crashes I have ever seen. He managed to launch himself off a big double, upside down and without a bike. He landed on his back and shoulder and went bouncing off into the woods. It took us about a min. to get his bike out of the woods and make sure he was OK. He missed first place buy 50 seconds....... I though we were gonna haul him off on a back board but he got up and finished his run. I got a crapload of pics but it'll take me a day or two to sort them out. I'll put up a thread in a few days.

I've got some really sick photos I'll post up when i get them all sorted.

Thats good that he got back up again.

I know how he felt, in a lesser degree of course, as He probably had more speed/more air.
When I hit the ground, I just layed there and began to process what might be broken and what I could move.

Backboarding people sucks, and is terrifying for everyone. (had to do it at our pool to a little kid) I'm glad he's ok.

Not sure on that one. Have you ever had the Giant Talon over where you are?

The Filter is essentially the model taking over the Talon line.
